How to Make a Healthy Salad
I think salads have a bit of a bad reputation. They’re often reserved as “diet food” and I think they’re almost viewed as a punishment, like you really wanted pizza but you’re making yourself have a salad. To be honest, I can see why. There are some pretty gross salads out there. But I’ve got some good news for you: you can make a healthy salad that actually tastes good.
Think of salads on a spectrum. At one end, you’ve got the so-healthy-it’s-disgusting salads, where it’s nothing but plain lettuce and some shredded carrots. On the other end, you’ve got the you-should-have-just-ordered-a-hamburger salad, loaded up with ham, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing. Neither are the ideal picture of a salad. So to make a salad that actually tastes good but still counts as healthy, follow this basic guide:
