My Favorite HIIT Workouts
If you’re short on time, try a HIIT workout! High-Intensity Interval Training is a great way to get in a solid workout in a short amount of time.
I’ve been doing 20 minute circuit workouts, and it’s been kicking my butt. I have a mental list of exercises, and then I mix and match them for 20 minutes. That’s it!
My HIIT Circuit Moves
Mix and match these 1 minute exercises for 15-20 minutes.
- Jump rope
- Weighted sit ups
- Squats
- Lunges
- Bicep curls
- Plank position
- Burpees (Love’ em and hate ’em)
- Mountain climbers
- Push-ups
- Jumping Jacks
Honestly, the time flies by, and I like picking out the next exercise during each minute. It keeps my mind occupied, and it makes the workout really fun. It also keeps my muscles guessing, and I end up getting in a much better workout than just aimlessly wandering from weight machine to weight machine. (Not that I do that or anything… *ahem*)
My Favorite Fitness Apps
Looking for something more? Try an at-home workout app! I love the Tone It Up Studio App and the FitOn app has tons of workouts for free! If you love HIIT Workouts, check out the Sweat App which has tons of high intensity interval programs.
If HIIT workouts aren’t your thing, there are plenty of other options out there! I love The Sculpt Society for dance workouts and the Blogilates app for toning moves.
Do you like circuit workouts? What workout would you add to the list?
I absolutely ADORE circuit workouts! I love doing Jillian’s Workouts since they are full of circuits. She’s the one that got me to love them! They really work! 😀
lol toasters are MUCH cooler than houses! originality at it’s finest 😉
Oooh, supersets are awesome for fighting boredom. I usually do three rounds of each superset and then 4-5 supersets. And that’s my workout. Super speedy and super intense.
I haven’t made a gingerbread house and probably won’t this year! Darnit! Jefferson and I usually do that every year and it is just so fun…But we had too much going on apparently…
What would I dip in caramel? Everything. Hell I’d dip broccoli in it if it defeat the purpose in such an ungodly way 😉
I love doing HIIT, but I haven’t jumped on the circuit train yet (unless you count weight lifting circuits). I definitely need to give it a shot though, because I have a super short attention span too. Standing at my desk has been a great remedy for my inability to sit still at work. :-p
Thanks for the great workout idea!
That’s a great idea, it would suit me down to the ground… I’m exactly the same in that I can’t watch films or even TV without getting bored easily. I like the 30-Day Shred because it changes around and I also like doind a couple of the 10-Minute Solution workouts for the same reason – might have to try this idea too, thanks 🙂
I love to do a circuit workout every now and then. This one looks great!
love this circuit! i am the same way!!! short attention span all the way
You are preaching to the choir missy! I swear I can be like a toddler sometimes with my attention span! I LOVE circuit workouts! I used to train at a Crossfit type gym (actually my ex was part owner) and even though I haven’t been there in 2 years, the training mentality stuck. I think that’s why I like Jackie Warner’s Timesaver Training DVD…it’s fast, effective, and gets you sweating!
I switch things up with my workouts so I don’t get bored (go figure) so sometimes I’ll do a full body circuit and incorporate multiple moves into one (like squats with bicep curls) or I’ll do a concentrated circuit (bi’s/tri’s/houlders one day, chest/back/abs, and another day of just legs)
I could not agree more, circuit workouts are my new favorite thing! This is a good one too 🙂
