What a Year
My goodness. It’s been quite a year. Looking back, it’s kind of hard to believe all this stuff fit into one calendar year. Here’s what 2014 contained:
Alex proposed to me on Friday, January 3rd.
It was an absolutely wonderful night and I got to share the good news with my parents and grandmother, who were visiting from out of town. We had such a fun weekend celebrating!
February included lots of wedding planning, but also trying some delicious restaurants like WPA Bakery and Proper Pie, a blogger barre class at Richmond Barre, and a fun photo shoot for Baggio with Sydney and Kaytee.
March and April were full of engagement photos, bachelorette parties, and bridal showers! I was so blessed to be able to celebrate in both Ohio and Virginia!
May and June included our wedding day and honeymoon, which were both absolutely wonderful!
We traveled quite a bit in July and August- to Chicago, Ohio, and Minneapolis. Alex’s family threw us a wedding reception in Minnesota so I could meet his family that couldn’t come all the way to Virginia for the wedding. It was so much fun getting to meet his extended family!
Let’s see… September and October included a vegetarian beer dinner, a couple of trips to New York, a trip to North Dakota for my cousin’s wedding, and oh yeah, we bought a house.
After all that, November and December were spent unpacking, remodeling, and celebrating Christmas with our families, including my second little nephew who arrived December 1st. We also got to celebrate our first Christmas in our new house!
What a year it has been! Some of these things took me by surprise and some required more paperwork and planning than I ever dreamed possible. (I’m so glad to be done wedding planning!) I have no idea what 2015 has in store for us but I’m sure it’s going to be a great year!
It’s been a great year for you both indeed!! Glad it was full with such joy and great memories, hope 2015 has many more! Hope you and Alex have a great 2015 New Years celebration! Stay safe and take care Liz -Iva
Not like it hadn’t felt like the year flew by already but now remembering the post you announced getting married – feels like it had been yesterday! – it does even more so. You had such a lot happening in 2014 and I’m keeping my fingers crossed 2015 will be nothing short of awesome for you, too! Happy New Year’s Eve!
Quite a year! My highlights were getting our puppy and a big promotion at work.
Happy New Year!
I think I started reading your blog in March or April, so I had no clue that y’all actually got engaged in 2014 too! Wow, I think 2014 will always go down as being a very memorable year for you : )
What an amazing year! The best parts of my year were my son’s first birthday, buying and moving to a new house, the birth of my second son, and, of course, getting a really great brother-in-law when my equally awesome sister-in-law got married 😉
