Vacation Sweetness!
Let me just start by saying I’ve been making a lot of progress on my list. I’ve been relaxing. I’ve soaked up some rays. I’ve read Glamour, Marie Clare, and Quirks. And I’ve definitely sipped [more than] my share of drinks…
This has been the landscape
And Eric and I have had some quality time together!
Not bad, right?
What is bad, is the fact that I’ve been eating pretty much nothing but crap for the past three days… chips, pretzels, sandwiches, um… alcohol?
I did manage to scrounge up some lettuce, green peppers, tomatoes, and hummus…
However, this has literally been my only source of vegetables all weekend. I can practically hear my body screaming for some carrots. Or parsnips. Or something.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s vacation, and a few [extra] chocolate chip cookies never killed anyone. But it does make me realize how much I genuinely like eating vegetables. And how much more energy I have when I eat healthy! Which got me thinking about Alex’s Sugar Free Challenge!
Are you taking the challenge? I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it for 10 days (I’m going to Bonnaroo, and I don’t think I’ll be able to pack proper food to continue the challenge…) But I am going to try it for 5 days! Baby steps, right?
So even though I’m already a label checker, I’ve got a new thing to watch out for! No sugar for this girl!
Are you taking the sugar free challenge? Do your habits change when you’re on vacation?
<3 Liz
Sounds like you had an awesome mini vacation! good luck with the challenge- I’m a health nut but I don’t think i could ever cut sugar out completely! Thanks for stopping by my blog, and I’ll definitely be back to see how you did with the challenge!
Looks like a great time ๐ goodluck on the challenge! I’m not sure if I could do that, props to you!! ๐
Good luck girl!! I definitely need to eat all the veggies I can, my vacation did not go well for my yummy
Good luck on the challenge! I’ve been pigging out ALL weekend! and I have so many leftovers, oy vey!
Sounds like a great time! I too have been eating crazy for the past couple of weeks. I am so ready to have a routine again. My sweet tooth is totally nuts right now since I have given into it for vacation/holiday. Hopefully I can get back on track pretty easy.
What a wonderful challenge! No, I’m not taking part in the sugar free challenge but I’ve got a little budget challenge of my own going on! That beach looks so wonderful and I’m so glad you took the time to relax!
Ohh budget challenges are fun too!! I guess I just love a good challenge ๐
What a great challenge! I am so envious of your beach time. What I wouldn’t give to be sitting on a beach right now with a cocktail in hand. Enjoy!
Liz, I’m glad you had fun! And, you look beautiful in that green dress. Sugar would be the hardest thing in the world for me to ever let go ๐
i’ve never done a sugar-free challenge before. the idea of sugar-free scares me! probably because i know how much food has added sugar and i’m a little too lazy to be super vigilant on it.
now that i’ve admitted that, i really want to try it for a week or two. hmm….
If I stray from my usual diet for even a short period of time, I get sick. I am SO jealous of your life right now. I would kill to be in a place so beautiful! Instead, I am at work right now, writing numbers on literally 3,000 sheets of paper.
Sigh.
Take me with you next time.
