Vacation Sweetness!
Let me just start by saying I’ve been making a lot of progress on my list. I’ve been relaxing. I’ve soaked up some rays. I’ve read Glamour, Marie Clare, and Quirks. And I’ve definitely sipped [more than] my share of drinks…
This has been the landscape
And Eric and I have had some quality time together!
Not bad, right?
What is bad, is the fact that I’ve been eating pretty much nothing but crap for the past three days… chips, pretzels, sandwiches, um… alcohol?
I did manage to scrounge up some lettuce, green peppers, tomatoes, and hummus…
However, this has literally been my only source of vegetables all weekend. I can practically hear my body screaming for some carrots. Or parsnips. Or something.
Don’t get me wrong, it’s vacation, and a few [extra] chocolate chip cookies never killed anyone. But it does make me realize how much I genuinely like eating vegetables. And how much more energy I have when I eat healthy! Which got me thinking about Alex’s Sugar Free Challenge!
Are you taking the challenge? I’m not sure I’ll be able to do it for 10 days (I’m going to Bonnaroo, and I don’t think I’ll be able to pack proper food to continue the challenge…) But I am going to try it for 5 days! Baby steps, right?
So even though I’m already a label checker, I’ve got a new thing to watch out for! No sugar for this girl!
Are you taking the sugar free challenge? Do your habits change when you’re on vacation?
<3 Liz
My eating habiuts most definitely change when on vacation. I think it’s important to relax and take everything in your stride when on holiday though.
I love your green dress – so pretty!!
And thumbs up for the sugar free challenge! I am already living sugar-free and I canΒ΄t say how amazing experience it is! More energy, more stable mood and no more fatigue in the afteroon hours are only a few of the benefits of going sugar free:)
I’m not sure how I would be able to avoid sugar for 10 days, but maybe avoiding most sugar could be semi-doable for me. You are one brave chick!
I was at the beach this weekend as well! Nothing better than having ones toes in the sand.
I always feel motivated to give up sugar after vacation- I usually eat like crap! I don’t know if I could ever do a sugar free challenge, but I’ve cut back on sugar / processed foods over the past week and I feel SO much better!
you two make a cute couple! I love it. Taking a look at the sugarfree challenge. I’m not sure I could do it!
I always eat so much worse when I am on vacation. It’s a nice change in pace, but I always feel like crap after! I’m not partaking in the sugar challenge..I love my chocolate and cakes..one day I will try that! Baby steps is a lot closer than me so high five for that!
If I haven’t had much in the way of vegetables I really crave them! Good luck for the challenge π
Oh I sooooo need a beach vacay right about now.
I’ve done candy-free challenges (my major vice), but never a full fledged sugar free challenge. I don’t think I could handle it, or rather the people who love me wouldn’t love me anymore π Are you cutting out whole fruit and yogurt and all that good stuff, or just the refined/added sugar?
I’ll just be cutting out added sugar/sweetner, etc. I’ll still be enjoying fruit!
Yay! Thanks for joining the challenge π I can’t wait!
I’m taking the challenge!! π
