This creamy feta dressing is delicious on your favorite salad and it makes an excellent dipping sauce for raw veggies!

I love feta cheese and after I spotted a feta salad dressing at Trader Joe’s, I realized I should try making my own! I used a simple vinegarette as the base and blended in creamy feta cheese. It was so easy and so delicious! This salty, creamy cheese makes the dressing taste rich and flavorful, but it doesn’t require a lot of cheese.

How to Make Feta Dressing

This dressing is really simple to make, especially if you have a small food processor or blender. If you’re using a larger food processor, you may want to double the batch to make it easier to blend. Another option is to simply mash everything together with a fork. The dressing won’t be completely smooth, but it’ll still be delicious.

How to Use Feta Salad Dressing

Obviously, you can drizzle this dressing on your favorite bed of greens, but you can also use it as a dip for raw cucumber, carrots, and tomatoes! You could drizzle it on top of a Mediterranean Chickpea Bowl or try it as a sauce for these Farro Grain Bowls.

How to Store Leftover Dressing

You can keep this dressing in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 4 days. The dressing may thicken once it’s chilled, so feel free to thin with water or whisk with a fork, if necessary.

My Best Salad Tips

I make a lot of salads and I’ve learned a few tips over the years. After you wash your greens, I recommend spinning them in a salad spinner. This helps remove the water from the greens, which is important. If your greens are still wet, the dressing won’t stick to the leaves and you’ll end up with a watery, soggy salad.

Once your greens are washed, store them in a large zipper-top bag and add a paper towel to the bag to help absorb moisture. This will help the greens stay fresh for longer.

Make the salad in a large bowl so it’s easy to toss the dressing into the salad. If you love chopped salads, a salad chopper can come in handy! I love finely chopping my salads so I get a little bit of each topping in every bite.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are pepperoncini? These sweet Italian chili peppers have a slight heat and they’re generally found pickled. I love the slightly spicy flavor they add to this dressing but they’re optional, so if you don’t like spice you can leave them out. They’re similar to banana peppers.

Can I use crumbled feta?– You can, although I do prefer feta from a block. Crumbled cheese contains anti-caking agents to prevent clumping, so the overall texture won’t be quite as smooth. But either one works fine.
