These soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls are perfectly sweet and secretly healthy! Made with just a few ingredients, this is a healthy twist on a classic treat!
Cottage cheese has done it again! I’m always amazed at how this simple ingredient can work in so many ways! These soft and fluffy cinnamon rolls are so delicious, you’d never guess that each one is packed with 7g of protein!
Ingredients & Substitutions
Self-RisingFlour– If you donโt have self-rising flour, you can use all-purpose flour. Use one cup of all-purpose flour mixed with 1 1/2 teaspoons of baking powder and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.
Cottage cheeseโ You can use low-fat or full-fat cottage cheese โ either one works great. You can use plain Greek yogurt if you donโt have cottage cheese.
Coconut oil– This adds a little richness to the filling. You can substitute with melted butter, if you prefer.
Cinnamon– Obviously, you need ground cinnamon to make cinnamon rolls!
Powdered sugar- A little powdered sugar makes a sweet glaze for these cinnamon rolls.
How to Make Self-Rising Flour
If you donโt have self-rising flour, you can make your own! Combine 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour, 2 1/4 teaspoons baking powder and 1/2 teaspoon salt. This will make slightly more than 1 1/2 cups of self rising flour, which is all you’ll need for this recipe.
