Boursin Pasta Recipe
This creamy Boursin pasta only requires a handful of ingredients but it creates a decadent pasta dish that tastes incredible. Roasted tomatoes, red onion, and tender pasta are coated in a tangy, creamy sauce.

After creating my own baked Greek pasta recipe based on the viral TikTok feta pasta recipe, I started dreaming about other delicious pasta ideas. I love the simplicity of adding veggies, cheese, and pasta to a pan and creating an incredible main dish in minutes. If it works with feta… why stop there? I decided to try this with Boursin cheese and I was thrilled with the results! If you love creamy pasta but you want something healthier, try my cottage cheese pasta sauce!
What is Boursin Cheese?
Boursin cheese is technically a Gournay cheese, mixed with herbs and spices. Boursin is the brand that popularized this creamy, crumbly cheese made from cow’s milk. So Boursin isn’t really a type of cheese, rather, it’s a brand that makes a variety of Gournay cheeses. But since most people refer to it as Boursin, I called this recipe Boursin pasta!
What’s the Best Boursin Cheese for this Recipe?
I recommend using the garlic and herb Boursin, which has the perfect flavor profile for this creamy baked pasta dish. They recently created a dairy-free version of this popular cheese, so if you want to make it without dairy, look for this cheese! I’ve seen it at Trader Joe’s and it’s pretty affordable.
What’s the Best Type of Pasta for this Recipe?
I like to use short, tubular pasta such as ziti, penne, or cavatappi. You can use any pasta you have on hand, but the shorter pasta shapes are easier to mix with the cheese and tomatoes. You can use gluten-free pasta or chickpea pasta if you prefer. I used Banza‘s rotini noodles in this recipe!
How to Make Boursin Pasta
Variations and Substitutions
- You can use feta or cream cheese in place of the Boursin cheese. Adjust the seasonings to taste, based on your swaps.
- You can use gluten free pasta if you want to keep this recipe celiac friendly.
- Feel free to add a handful of spinach if you want to boost the veggies!
What to Serve with Boursin Pasta
If you’re not sure what to serve with this pasta dish, I have a whole list of the best side dishes to serve with pasta. But here are a few of my favorites:
How to Store Leftovers
If you have leftovers, store them in the fridge for up to 2 days. This pasta is best served right away, as it does have a tendency to dry out after it sits. If you’re reheating leftovers, drizzle a little olive oil on top and reheat in the microwave. Stir to incorporate. You may even want to add a little extra cheese. Iโm going to have to double the recipe lol soooo good!
This was such a yummy dish. What ablut adding more spices like thyme or rosemary? For a vegan alternative to parmesan cheese, just add nutritional yeast.
Parmesan isnโt vegetarian anything else I can use ?

Anyone freeze the leftovers?
I havenโt tried it but I wouldnโt recommend it. Cheese sauce doesnโt typically freeze very well. But if you do try it, let me know!
This quickly became a favorite at my house! It is so good!
I love how easy these was to make and super yummy!
Thanks for the heads up on the dairy free version, I’ll be on the lookout for that because this looks incredible and I can’t eat cow’s milk dairy!

Oh, Liz – how wonderful! I am a total sucker for veggie-loaded pasta recipes, and Boursin cheese is a secret little indulgence, but I’ve never used it like this for pasta. What a brilliant idea! So totally simple and yummy!!
