Air Fryer Broccoli
This Air Fryer Broccoli recipe is easy to make and your whole family will be asking for seconds! Air fried broccoli gets deliciously crispy and it’s faster than roasting in the oven!
I’ve been enjoying our air fryer for quick and easy recipes and this air fryer broccoli is one of the best things to make! Broccoli is one of our family’s favorite vegetables but it takes a long time to roast in the oven. Making it in the air fryer is faster and easier, so it’s great for a last-minute side dish!
What is an Air Fryer?
An air fryer works like a convection-style oven. It circulates hot air around a metal basket which creates a crispy outer layer. You can “fry” foods with minimal oil and still create deliciously crispy food.

How to Make Broccoli in an Air Fryer
This recipe is super simple! Chop the broccoli into 1″ florets. The goal is to create evenly sized pieces so they all cook at the same rate. If you have some pieces that are too large, they won’t get crispy.
Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees. Toss the broccoli with oil, garlic powder, onion powder, and salt. To use a minimal amount of oil, use an olive oil spray. This makes it easier to get an even coat across all the broccoli.
Spread the broccoli into a single layer in the air fryer basket.
Be sure not to crowd the basket. If you’re making a large amount, you may want to cook it in separate batches. Once the broccoli is browned and crisp, it’s ready to be enjoyed!
How to Cook Frozen Broccoli
If your broccoli is frozen, you can still make delicious air fryer broccoli! Simply add a few additional minutes of cooking time. There’s no need to defrost the broccoli before adding it to the air fryer. Just be aware that some frozen broccoli contains large pieces and you won’t be able to chop them when frozen. So for larger, frozen pieces, you may need to add up to 4 minutes of cooking time.

Description
This Air Fryer Broccoli recipe is easy to make and your whole family will be asking for seconds! It’s faster than roasting in the oven and the broccoli gets deliciously crispy!
Ingredients
- 3 cups broccoli florets, chopped into 1” pieces
- 2 teaspoons olive oil (or olive oil spray)
- 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
- 1/4 teaspoon onion powder
- Salt to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the air fryer to 390 degrees.
- Toss the broccoli with oil, garlic powder, and onion powder. Or, spray the broccoli with olive oil spray, then toss with seasoning. Add salt to taste.
- Cook for 4-5 minutes until broccoli is browned.
Notes
The broccoli will shrink as it cooks, so cooking 3 cups of raw broccoli will result in about 2 cups of cooked broccoli.
How to Store Leftover Broccoli
You can keep leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge, but it will soften. To reheat the broccoli, I recommend preheating the air fryer and cooking the broccoli for 1 minute until heated. Reheating in the microwave will make the broccoli soggy.
