Loving Virginia
This state is amazing. I’ve been here for about 3 & 1/2 years now, and Virginia feels like home. Fall has always been my favorite season, but Virginia in the fall is truly breathtaking. What better way to enjoy this great state than visit some of the gorgeous wineries, right?
Saturday afternoon, I spent the day in Charlottesville with some of my favorite girls. The car ride was filled with girly conversation and our entire afternoon was documented with Instagrams. It was a perfect day.
We stopped at three vineyards: Pippin Hill Farm, Trump Winery, & The Jefferson Vineyards.
Pippin Hill had the most spectacular views, but the bartender at Trump was our favorite, and we split a bottle of Viognier at the Jefferson Vineyards, which is my favorite! I’m so lucky that I can surround myself with such amazing, sweet, gorgeous girls!
After an adventurous afternoon, I stopped by my house, grabbed a cup of coffee, and ran out the door to meet Brittany for dinner. The lovely team at Kitchen on Cary invited us to a soft opening sort of dinner. (I’d been there once before, which you can read about here.)
We spent the hours chatting about Richmond, work, blogging, and of course… food. We both chose the Arugula and Goat Cheese salad for a starter, and I had a roasted vegetable sandwich while Brittany enjoyed the Sea Bass. Both of us really liked our meals (that salad was amazing!) and the service was great. They officially open on Monday, so if you’re in the Richmond area, give them a try!
Alex has been out of town all weekend, so I pretty much had a jam packed girls weekend. I guess I made the best of it, right? 😉
Fall is our favorite 🙂
looks like an amazing weekend!!
Liz, your dress is cute! I’m heading to Cville soon to tour some vineyards, definitely going to try the Viognier.

What a pretty group! And a pretty backdrop! Seems like a great weekend!
Ah what a fun weekend! Glad you guys were able to hit up some amazing vineyards. I always love living in Charlottesville during this season. 🙂 Let me know the next time you’re in town and we can get lunch!
Yes!! That would be so fun! I keep meaning to take a little day-trip to Charlottesville! I’m over due for a bloger meet up 🙂
I’ve heard incredible things about the vineyards in Virginia! They are up and coming!
Since we only have two seasons here in Santa Barbara, nice weather and really nice weather, I really cannot pick a favorite! But I love how much you love Virginia, I feel the same way about Santa Barbara 🙂
Officially homesick.
Awwww, come back and visit! 🙂
Okay, forget California. I’m coming to Virginia! 🙂 It is so pretty there. I’ve only been in the summer but I would love to see it during the fall. And drink some VA wine, of course.
That’s so cool that you were invited out to that restaurant and that you got to hang out with a fellow blogger. Sounds like a delicious and fun time!
If you ever come to Virginia, let me know!! I could totally give you an unofficial tour 😉
I’m a fall girl too! I love the VA seasons too. Fall hasn’t hit quite as hard in Williamsburg, yet, but we’re starting to see some of the cooler weather. I can’t wait for the leaves to change!
I was in Williamsburg over labor day and I hadn’t been there since I was in elementary school! I forgot how gorgeous is it! I’m hoping to swing by there again before the end of fall!
You ladies look wonderful and beautiful pictures. I would love to visit, it seems very relaxing.
