Loving Virginia
This state is amazing. I’ve been here for about 3 & 1/2 years now, and Virginia feels like home. Fall has always been my favorite season, but Virginia in the fall is truly breathtaking. What better way to enjoy this great state than visit some of the gorgeous wineries, right?
Saturday afternoon, I spent the day in Charlottesville with some of my favorite girls. The car ride was filled with girly conversation and our entire afternoon was documented with Instagrams. It was a perfect day.
We stopped at three vineyards: Pippin Hill Farm, Trump Winery, & The Jefferson Vineyards.
Pippin Hill had the most spectacular views, but the bartender at Trump was our favorite, and we split a bottle of Viognier at the Jefferson Vineyards, which is my favorite! I’m so lucky that I can surround myself with such amazing, sweet, gorgeous girls!
After an adventurous afternoon, I stopped by my house, grabbed a cup of coffee, and ran out the door to meet Brittany for dinner. The lovely team at Kitchen on Cary invited us to a soft opening sort of dinner. (I’d been there once before, which you can read about here.)
We spent the hours chatting about Richmond, work, blogging, and of course… food. We both chose the Arugula and Goat Cheese salad for a starter, and I had a roasted vegetable sandwich while Brittany enjoyed the Sea Bass. Both of us really liked our meals (that salad was amazing!) and the service was great. They officially open on Monday, so if you’re in the Richmond area, give them a try!
Alex has been out of town all weekend, so I pretty much had a jam packed girls weekend. I guess I made the best of it, right? 😉
LOVE your dress!! That is so pretty!
I’ve always thought that Virginia was a state I could see myself living in if I didn’t end up staying in or around the Pittsburgh area. I love the scenery of that state and I agree fall in Virginia is something to behold. Love your little boots in the winery pics by the way!
If you ever come for a visit, let me know!! 🙂
I want to both visit Virginia and a winery! Looks awesome!
The pictures are beautiful! I love, love fall! It’s such a beautiful season with good food, smells and colors.
Girls weekends are the best! So are blogger meet-ups 🙂 Also that picture of you and your friends at the vineyard is stunning!
Aw thanks, girl! And I do love blogger meet ups! 😉
Gorggeeous pics!
What a fun weekend! I love your dress and the booties – super cute! I love Autumn weather…mainly because I love the clothing that comes along with it!
I am the same way! Boots and leggins are my favorite, haha.
How fun! I love Fall! I don’t know why but this year I am so much more excited for it than any other year! I am planning a fall themed weekend this weekend 😀 I love Pippin Hill too! I photographed a wedding there last winter. Charlottesville is amazing!
Oh nice! I’m sure the pictures were gorgeous! I absolutely loved the views!
I have never been to Virginia but looks breathtakingly beautiful. Have a wonderful Monday <3
I have the same sentiment about this amazing state. And I am in love with Autumn in the Shenandoah – it’s absolute perfection! Oh yes, another think i love about the Shenandoah…all the amazing wineries in the area! Don’t you just love the decor at Pippin Hill? You should try the wines at Sugarleaf – it’s an itty bitty winery but the wines are fabulous! Hope you enjoyed the rest of your girls’ weekend 🙂
Ohhh I’ll definitely add Sugarleaf to my list of places to try!!
