Loving Virginia
This state is amazing. I’ve been here for about 3 & 1/2 years now, and Virginia feels like home. Fall has always been my favorite season, but Virginia in the fall is truly breathtaking. What better way to enjoy this great state than visit some of the gorgeous wineries, right?
Saturday afternoon, I spent the day in Charlottesville with some of my favorite girls. The car ride was filled with girly conversation and our entire afternoon was documented with Instagrams. It was a perfect day.
We stopped at three vineyards: Pippin Hill Farm, Trump Winery, & The Jefferson Vineyards.
Pippin Hill had the most spectacular views, but the bartender at Trump was our favorite, and we split a bottle of Viognier at the Jefferson Vineyards, which is my favorite! I’m so lucky that I can surround myself with such amazing, sweet, gorgeous girls!
After an adventurous afternoon, I stopped by my house, grabbed a cup of coffee, and ran out the door to meet Brittany for dinner. The lovely team at Kitchen on Cary invited us to a soft opening sort of dinner. (I’d been there once before, which you can read about here.)
We spent the hours chatting about Richmond, work, blogging, and of course… food. We both chose the Arugula and Goat Cheese salad for a starter, and I had a roasted vegetable sandwich while Brittany enjoyed the Sea Bass. Both of us really liked our meals (that salad was amazing!) and the service was great. They officially open on Monday, so if you’re in the Richmond area, give them a try!
Alex has been out of town all weekend, so I pretty much had a jam packed girls weekend. I guess I made the best of it, right? 😉
What an incredible weekend! Love all the pictures…ESPECIALLY the group shot! You ladies look amazing! Gosh, it’s been FOREVER since I’ve been to Virginia (I was born in Portsmouth). I don’t remember much, but I’d love to visit someday soon!
I’ve always been partial to fall, but I have to say this summer was pretty extraordinary…plus it wasn’t like five billion degrees outside! So yeah, that sorta helped! Ha!
First of all, the photos of you are gorgeous. Second, that restaurant sounds amazing– I would definitely get the bass like your friend!
