Frozen Cottage Cheese Bark
Looking for a sweet and creamy treat that’s also healthy and delicious? Try this frozen cottage cheese bark! Made with creamy cottage cheese, blended with fruit, and topped with granola, this frozen dessert is so tasty!

After falling in love with frozen yogurt bark, the new cottage cheese trends got me thinking… why not make frozen bark with cottage cheese? I think this might be even better than yogurt bark! It’s super creamy, and it’s easy to make.
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Cottage cheese– I recommend 4% milkfat for the best texture.
- Frozen fruit– I used a mix of blackberries, raspberries, and blueberries but you could also use strawberries and/or mango.
- Banana– This helps add sweetness and create a creamy texture. You could substitute with mango.
- Honey or sweetener of choice– I’ve used honey and stevia; both were tasty!
- Toppings– I used granola, mini chocolate chips, and coconut flakes but I’ve included additional ideas below.

The Best Cottage Cheese Brands
When it comes to cottage cheese, not all brands are created equal. Some have a creamier texture, and others have a stronger tangy flavor. Some have a lot of added salt, which can make treats like this too salty. Here are a few of my favorites that I’ve tried:
Good Culture
Good Culture is an organic cottage cheese brand that stands out for its thick and creamy texture. It’s made with high-quality milk and contains no artificial flavors, sweeteners, or preservatives. This brand also offers a variety of flavors, including classic, strawberry, and blueberry. This is my top pick but it’s also typically the most expensive option.
Daisy
Daisy cottage cheese is another popular brand that has been around for a while. It tends to be a more affordable option, similar to Breakstone’s. I also like that they sell cottage cheese in smaller, individual-portion containers. Perfect if you just need a small amount for a recipe!
Breakstone’s
Breakstone’s cottage cheese has been around for a very long time. This brand is known for its creamy texture and mild flavor, making it a great option for those who prefer a less tangy taste. They also offer a low-sodium option which is great to have for sweeter recipes. (Their list of ingredients does tend to be longer than some of the other brands.)
Tips & Tricks
- Spreading the bark into a thin layer will make the pieces easier to bite into when frozen.
- Use 4% milkfat cottage cheese for the best results. This will give you a rich, creamy texture.
- Check your cottage cheese to make sure there is not a lot of added salt. The Good Culture brand is my favorite for flavor because it’s not too salty.
- I store leftover cottage cheese bark in a freezer bag or reusable silicone bag.
- Keep in mind that your toppings will also be frozen so if you’re using chocolate chips or fruit, be sure to use mini chips and dice up the fruit into small pieces.

I love you! I’m a HUGE cottage cheese in recipe fan — I use it all the time to boost protein, blended up in stuff like waffles, muffins, faux cheesecakes, in baked taters, lasagne, you name it! Never thought to use as a the base for frozen bark. Genius and thank you!
