Baked Feta Gnocchi
The viral feta pasta bake is even better with gnocchi! Everything cooks in one pan for a dinner recipe that takes almost no time to prepare!

I loved the viral feta pasta bake, but this gnocchi version might be even better. I love that the gnocchi cooks in the same pan as the tomatoes and feta, so there’s no extra prep work required! Trust me, you’re going to love this one.
Ingredients & Substitutions
- Olive oil– A little drizzle of olive oil adds richness and flavor to the sauce.
- Shelf-stable or refrigerated gnocchi– I’m sharing my favorite brands below! Looking for more ways to use it? Try my sun-dried tomato gnocchi next!
- Feta– Be sure to use a high-quality block of feta. Do not use crumbled feta as it does not melt as well.
- Red onion– Add a little red onion to add extra flavor! They get slightly sweet as they caramelize in the oven.
- Cherry tomatoes– This is an easy way to add vegetables to the gnocchi bake.
My Favorite Gnocchi
I really like the DeLallo brand gnocchi. The shelf-stable kind of gnocchi works best in this recipe rather than frozen gnocchi. I’ve found it at Kroger, Publix, and Wegmans, but you can even order it on Amazon. DeLallo also makes chickpea gnocchi that is gluten-free, but I’ve heard mixed reviews on the flavor and texture. How to Find the Best Feta Cheese
- Real Greek feta cheese is made from sheep’s milk and that’s what gives feta such a unique flavor. Be sure to check the label because a lot of feta in the United States is made from cow’s milk.
- Look for feta that is in a solid block and in a container of brine. This will give you a fresher flavor than the kind of cheese that is vacuum-sealed.
- I do not recommend fat-free feta. You’ll be missing out on all the delicious flavors, and the recipe won’t have the same creamy texture. For this recipe, you need the real deal.

How to Store & Reheat Leftovers
If you have leftovers, store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, warm the gnocchi in a skillet over medium heat with a splash of water or olive oil to help loosen the sauce. You can also microwave it in 30-second intervals, stirring between each, until heated through. Keep in mind that the gnocchi may firm up in the fridge, so adding a little extra moisture while reheating will help bring back its creamy texture.

Description
The viral feta pasta bake is even better with gnocchi! Everything cooks in one pan for a dinner recipe that takes almost no time to prepare!
Ingredients
- 8 oz feta cheese (block)
- 24oz cherry tomatoes
- 16oz shelf stable gnocchi
- 1/4 red onion, thinly sliced
- 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt & black pepper, to taste
- Chopped basil and parmesan cheese
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 400 degrees.
- In a 9×13 baking dish, place the feta in the center. Add the cherry tomatoes, gnocchi, and sliced red onion. Drizzle with olive oil and season with Italian seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Toss everything to coat.
- Bake uncovered for 30 minutes, or until the tomatoes are bursting, the feta is soft, and the gnocchi is tender.
- Use a fork to mash the feta and mix it with the roasted tomatoes to create a creamy sauce. Stir everything together until the gnocchi is well coated.
- Sprinkle with fresh basil and parmesan cheese, and enjoy.
I generally enjoy your recipes but this one was unfortunately really disappointing. I didn’t have your favorite gnocchi, so maybe that was the issue, but the dish came out like an overwhelmingly tart paste. The gnocchi lost their texture & the feta overpowered the flavor. I’ll be back because I’ve found lots of terrific recipes on your site, but this isn’t one of them. 🙁
This recipe is amazing! I especially love its simplicity and convenience, perfect for busy weekdays. Combining feta cheese with gnocchi is such a brilliant idea. I can’t wait to try this recipe, thank you for sharing! I hope more readers will also try this delicious dish!
I love this idea!! I’ve made this recipe with pasta but never with gnocchi. I need to try this ASAP! 😀
