What I [Now] Eat Wednesday
I used to be the pickiest eater ever.
Breakfast was Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Lunch was Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Dinner was (hopefully) pasta, with just a little bit of sauce, followed by a package of ritz crackers for a snack.
Uh, carbs much? But I didn’t care. Not to mention I was an active kid, who was always small for her age. Ah, how I’ll miss that metabolism 😉
That, my friends, is the face of a little carboholic.
I guess I’m still rocking the bangs.

Well I’m still loving CTC, but now it’s more of a “treat” than a breakfast food. And, well, you know how I feel about Kraft now. Pasta for dinner just doesn’t happen that often, unless it’s loaded with veggies. It made me realize that there are so many foods I used to hate, that now I can’t imagine living without. So I can’t imagine what WIAW would look like when I was young. Oh how things change.
I used to hate yogurt.
My mom begged me to eat it because it had calcium in it, and since I refused to drink milk (ok, some things never change) it seemed like a good source of calcium. Well it is. The difference is, now it’s hard for me to go a single day without yogurt! Hence, today’s breakfast.
I didn’t like almonds. Or cashews. Or nuts in general.
My dad used to always eat a handful of cashews when he came home from work. My mom was more of an almond girl. I liked neither. Yet today, I can’t go a day without nuts, normally in the form of nut butter!
I didn’t like anything new.
Now I’ll try anything (*with the exception of meat I suppose).
Kombucha– check
Chia seeds– check
Pluot– check!! (yes, its a plum and a apricot!)
Oh and I definitely wouldn’t have eaten a green smoothie
This was a banana, soy milk, ice, stevia and a large handful of spinach… topped with granola. Holy yum!
I used to hate nuts too! I definitely prefer nut butter to plain nuts, but I’m learning to love them 🙂
I was generally pretty good about trying new things, but yes, most of my dinners were pasta with sauce. Yum. Good thing I played soccer to burn off all my carbs! Now I like lots of things I’d never thought anyone could actually enjoy eating (brussels, broccoli, eggplant, etc)
I used to hate bananas and now I tolerate/like them depending on their ripeness and I used to love mushrooms and now I tolerate/hate them depending on their usage.
I’ve always been a food lover! Haha, I would eat anything as a kid, except for mashed potatoes for about a year because I ate too many of them in one sitting. But that’s besides the point 😉 I loved cinnamon toast crunch! For old time sake I’ll eat the Cascadian Farm brand.. tastes just the same but not as bad nutrition wise!
I was always a white milk hater too. EW. Still couldn’t drink a glass, unless you paid me. I’ve always pretty much been into eating anything, but I definitely couldn’t even look at broccoli without dying a little on the inside when I was a little kid 😉
My tastes have definetly changed since growing up. Believe it or not I didn’t like chocolate as a kid. Now I crave it pretty much every day! 🙂
I was actually never very picky – I would eat almost anything! That being said, there are sooome things that I was picky about… mostly when it came to pasta. I only wanted butter on it – no pasta sauce (has changed!). Other than that, I’ve always really liked lots of the foods I do now: oatmeal, yogurt, veggies (especially carrots 😛 ). Now I didn’t eat any nut butter when I was little, but that was because I was allergic to nuts – oh the horrors of the past!! 😉

You were such a cute kid! I love your bangs. I wish I didn’t have curly hair and could have bangs. Nut butter is key to getting through a day. I have been consuming more almonds than nut butter though. It is scary.
YAY for nut buttah! 😀
I love the idea of this post. I was the exact same way. Back in the day I’d barely put anything in my mouth that wasn’t cake. My how things have changed. Eats look great, by the way!
