What I [Now] Eat Wednesday
I used to be the pickiest eater ever.
Breakfast was Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Lunch was Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Dinner was (hopefully) pasta, with just a little bit of sauce, followed by a package of ritz crackers for a snack.
Uh, carbs much? But I didn’t care. Not to mention I was an active kid, who was always small for her age. Ah, how I’ll miss that metabolism 😉
That, my friends, is the face of a little carboholic.
I guess I’m still rocking the bangs.

Well I’m still loving CTC, but now it’s more of a “treat” than a breakfast food. And, well, you know how I feel about Kraft now. Pasta for dinner just doesn’t happen that often, unless it’s loaded with veggies. It made me realize that there are so many foods I used to hate, that now I can’t imagine living without. So I can’t imagine what WIAW would look like when I was young. Oh how things change.
I used to hate yogurt.
My mom begged me to eat it because it had calcium in it, and since I refused to drink milk (ok, some things never change) it seemed like a good source of calcium. Well it is. The difference is, now it’s hard for me to go a single day without yogurt! Hence, today’s breakfast.
I didn’t like almonds. Or cashews. Or nuts in general.
My dad used to always eat a handful of cashews when he came home from work. My mom was more of an almond girl. I liked neither. Yet today, I can’t go a day without nuts, normally in the form of nut butter!
I didn’t like anything new.
Now I’ll try anything (*with the exception of meat I suppose).
Kombucha– check
Chia seeds– check
Pluot– check!! (yes, its a plum and a apricot!)
Oh and I definitely wouldn’t have eaten a green smoothie
This was a banana, soy milk, ice, stevia and a large handful of spinach… topped with granola. Holy yum!
My tastes have changed sooo much as I’ve gotten older– I used to hate fish, cottage cheese, peanut butter and plain yogurt with a passions, but now I eat them nearly everyday! And I used to love chocolate, poptarts and corn on the cob, but I think I overdosed on them haha 😉
Happy WIAW 😀
Haha I really want to like cottage cheese but sadly its one of those things I still can’t stand! Sad!
I grew up on a pretty processed diet… mac & cheese and I we’re best friends. Now I try to avoid the artificial crap… I don’t know if my tastes really changed… I think it’s more of a change in my eating philosophy.
ha! I love cheese….always have, always will. But, I have NEVER been able to stomach raw celery. People say to me–“why not? It doesn’t taste like anything??!” so I say—WHY eat it then?? I can eat it cooked, but if anyone sneaks it into a salad or anything like that–I can’t do it.
I’m late to jump on the Chia seed wagon, but I am there now. In fact, I giggled when I saw you eat them too. I am posting about them today! 🙂
Hahaha that’s too funny! I can’t wait to read your post about them!
I grew up on a steady diet of Wendy’s and Dairy Queen. My taste buds would have been dead if not for my mom’s cooking. I’d still eat pretty much anything though, but I had no idea about yummies like sushi, almond butter, or avocado (besides guac). Oh, I used to hate eggs but now I love them.
Glad my taste buds developed!
Mushrooms always were mistaken blobs of rubber put on my plate by silly parents (tut) Cheese tasted like off cream that had curdled, and I used to fantasize about bacon all day. Erm … today I had a cheese and mushroom toasted sandwhich. Without bacon. And it was delicious =)
Hahaha I really really want to like mushrooms but unfortunately those still fall in the category of things I’ve always hated!
Haha, I was exactly the same – I think I used to have hollow legs and it was all refined carbohydrates… I don’t know where I put it!
Now, I eat yogurt two or three times every day, I can’t go without my own weight in veg when I used only to like carrots, I’ll try new things…
I’ve still got my mad sweet tooth though 🙂
that’s such a cute picture of you when you were younger – and you’ve got such gorgeous hair now, I’m jealous!
LOVE the bangs! My taste buds have definitely evolved for the better! THe idea of drinking a Green Monster in the past would have made me barf, or just eating greens in general…these days i actually craving veggies! Also I physically can’t handle processed foods in large quantities any more…my body likes the real deal!
Haha I’m the exact same way, isn’t that crazy??
I on the other hand, haven’t had a change in taste since I was 10yrs old. Maybe someday…maybe someday…
my tastes have definitely grown up with me! i probably rivaled you for the pickiest eater title. pretty much all i ate were cheerios and cheese pizza
Hahaha I used to take the cheese OFF of my pizza. I would only eat crust and sauce. Ridiculous? I know.
I’ve definitely matured when it comes to my food thank goodness!!
