What I [Now] Eat Wednesday
I used to be the pickiest eater ever.
Breakfast was Cinnamon Toast Crunch. Lunch was Kraft Macaroni and Cheese. Dinner was (hopefully) pasta, with just a little bit of sauce, followed by a package of ritz crackers for a snack.
Uh, carbs much? But I didn’t care. Not to mention I was an active kid, who was always small for her age. Ah, how I’ll miss that metabolism 😉
That, my friends, is the face of a little carboholic.
I guess I’m still rocking the bangs.

Well I’m still loving CTC, but now it’s more of a “treat” than a breakfast food. And, well, you know how I feel about Kraft now. Pasta for dinner just doesn’t happen that often, unless it’s loaded with veggies. It made me realize that there are so many foods I used to hate, that now I can’t imagine living without. So I can’t imagine what WIAW would look like when I was young. Oh how things change.
I used to hate yogurt.
My mom begged me to eat it because it had calcium in it, and since I refused to drink milk (ok, some things never change) it seemed like a good source of calcium. Well it is. The difference is, now it’s hard for me to go a single day without yogurt! Hence, today’s breakfast.
I didn’t like almonds. Or cashews. Or nuts in general.
My dad used to always eat a handful of cashews when he came home from work. My mom was more of an almond girl. I liked neither. Yet today, I can’t go a day without nuts, normally in the form of nut butter!
I didn’t like anything new.
Now I’ll try anything (*with the exception of meat I suppose).
Kombucha– check
Chia seeds– check
Pluot– check!! (yes, its a plum and a apricot!)
Oh and I definitely wouldn’t have eaten a green smoothie
This was a banana, soy milk, ice, stevia and a large handful of spinach… topped with granola. Holy yum!
i now like olives…….and red wine 🙂
Haha oh man I still can’t stand olives!!!! I want to like them, but I just don’t! I’ve also grown accustom to wine! I still prefer white, but I’ll definitely sip a red 😉
I used to despise mushrooms and now I love them! I also never would have gone near a green smoothie but am warming up to them 🙂
Thankfully my taste buds continue to mature!!!! I have never liked cottage cheese (and still won’t touch it), but so many things I hated as a child, I eat on a regular basis now.
d’aww, lookit lil you! so cute
funny how much our appetites can change aye?
I’d eat bout the same when i was a bitty–sugar-loaded cereal, mac-n-cheese, and an excessive amount of mashed p’tatoes aka carb overload!
hope you’re well lovie!
xo
-hannah!
gawwwd when i was a kid i was affraid to eat anything but instant noodles with hot dogs in them for all 3 meals every day! haha… glad to day im a little more adventurous these days. your hair looks awesome, so jealous of you lucky ones with lush long hair! xxxx
You are so adorable lady, I love the bangs now 🙂 I wasn’t too picky as a kid, but both of my older brothers were… they only every wanted pasta and chicken fingers haha
Aww, you are so adorable and starry-eyed in that younger-you pic 🙂 And still lovin’ the bangs on you. I was pretty easy going in terms of food as a kid, except broccoli–I hated it. And now it’s my favorite veggie. So, yeah, things change 😀
haha I think my eating tastes have changed due to my ED. I’m working on making them reasonable while still taking into account taht I’m older and I may not like things I used to. I couldn’t live a day without yogurt either. yummmm
It’s funny reading this, ’cause I can relate to tastebud-change. I’ve always LOVED carbs, but now I love things like veggies, too. Esp. mushrooms. I used to tell my mom they tasted like slugs. Now they’re in almost every meal I eat! Yay for evolution 🙂
Hahaha slugs, that’s so funny! I still am a little iffy on the mushroom texture thing, but I’m trying to like them! They’re so good for you!
Oh my gosh we had the same diet as kids! I absolutely love veggies now, and I NEVER ate them as a kid. I used to live on fish sticks, pizza rolls, and Ramen. Now I never eat those things because they make me feel so sluggish. Now that I’m not an infinite ball of energy I need to eat more wholesome foods.
