What I Ate [Without an Appetite] Wednesday
It was an odd day of eats. For some reason, I just didn’t have much of an appetite. Which never. Ever. Happens.
I even went to the store to buy ingredients for a new recipe, and then ended up totally not feeling it. So my eats were pretty lame. Don’t worry, I’m sure my appetite will be back in full force soon!
Thank you, Jenn, for being the queen of Wednesday!!! Happy What I Ate Wednesday, friends!
Breakfast:
I’ve been eating more smoothies and less yogurt bowls, due to the exorbitant prices of blueberries. (And I don’t skimp on the b-berries.) PB+Banana+ Almond milk + spinach is super cheap. Thank goodness. So is my homemade granola.
Lunch:
I’m kind of in a lunch-rut. But it’s not so bad. The salad bars at work are great, so I’ve been filling up on salads. And hummus has become standard, so that’s usually my choice of “dressing”. Although to be perfectly honest, for some reason, I think the hummus has been giving me a stomach ache… and I can’t figure out why. That didn’t help the lack of appetite.
Dinner:
I had picked out all the ingredients for a new recipe and then I had absolutely no appetite. None. So annoying! Finally, around 8pm, I worked up an appetite, and popped in new (to me) Trader Joe’s frozen dinner.
It was surprisingly good, and less than 300 calories. It was definitely filling, but as I mentioned, I didn’t start out terribly hungry.
Dessert:
No matter how not-hungry I am, I am always hungry for fro-yo. Always. So Kate and I made a trip to Sweet Frog, before going to see the movie 50/50 which was super good. And it was fun thinking about the fact the Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in Richmond right now filming another movie.
it’s VERY rare, but yeah, once in a blue moon, i’ll just be not-hungry. so weird. also, i, like most vegans, was obsessed with hummus, until one day i was eating some and it suddenly tasted disgusting. i honestly think I OD’d on the stuff! i can still eat chick peas, but i haven’t had hummus in months and months.
I never NOT have an appetite unfortunately haha
and yes, always room for fro-yo!
Oh yes, I do know the not hungry feeling. It doesn’t happen very often. I usually always want ice cream in the winter, not sure why??
The price of blueberries makes me sad… my mum, bless her, bought me a big box last week but they’re nearly gone, which means back to frozen ones and they’re just not the same!
And yep, ice cream (and coffee at the same time) all winter 🙂
Even frozen ones are expensive!!! I spent $4 on a bag of frozen ones and then LEFT them on the bagging table thing at the grocery store. I was so sad!
Ooh, nasty…. I’d have been kicking myself! 🙁
oh my. i can eat anything at anytime! i live in arizona and when it was 100 degrees i was still drinking hot coffee. (i DID however sometimes sweat. gross i know.)
but yes. ice cream in the winter. TOTALLY acceptable.
There are definitely days when I’m not hungry and others when I’m simply ravenous!
Nonetheless, I always have room for froyo as well 🙂
Ice cream nights, particularly when you feel cold more often than not, are just plain weird in the winter, but they totally happen. Who knows why, but it just sounds so good to eat! 🙂 I like the pretzels added in btw. Crunchy and creamy = so good.
Trader Joe’s has some amazing frozen meals…there are a few in particular that I like to keep on hand for those days when I’m feeling lazy 🙂
man do i kinda wish i had a frozen dinner to make tonight. like you i have great plans to cook, but not feeling it. ahhh, what to do what to do…
Breakfast especially looks delicious!
