What I Ate [Without an Appetite] Wednesday
It was an odd day of eats. For some reason, I just didn’t have much of an appetite. Which never. Ever. Happens.
I even went to the store to buy ingredients for a new recipe, and then ended up totally not feeling it. So my eats were pretty lame. Don’t worry, I’m sure my appetite will be back in full force soon!
Thank you, Jenn, for being the queen of Wednesday!!! Happy What I Ate Wednesday, friends!
Breakfast:
I’ve been eating more smoothies and less yogurt bowls, due to the exorbitant prices of blueberries. (And I don’t skimp on the b-berries.) PB+Banana+ Almond milk + spinach is super cheap. Thank goodness. So is my homemade granola.
Lunch:
I’m kind of in a lunch-rut. But it’s not so bad. The salad bars at work are great, so I’ve been filling up on salads. And hummus has become standard, so that’s usually my choice of “dressing”. Although to be perfectly honest, for some reason, I think the hummus has been giving me a stomach ache… and I can’t figure out why. That didn’t help the lack of appetite.
Dinner:
I had picked out all the ingredients for a new recipe and then I had absolutely no appetite. None. So annoying! Finally, around 8pm, I worked up an appetite, and popped in new (to me) Trader Joe’s frozen dinner.
It was surprisingly good, and less than 300 calories. It was definitely filling, but as I mentioned, I didn’t start out terribly hungry.
Dessert:
No matter how not-hungry I am, I am always hungry for fro-yo. Always. So Kate and I made a trip to Sweet Frog, before going to see the movie 50/50 which was super good. And it was fun thinking about the fact the Joseph Gordon-Levitt is in Richmond right now filming another movie.
That honestly happens to me on more than one occasion. It’s so weird! I’ll go like hours without eating and still not be hungry. So I usually just eat small things throughout the day so I don’t die, haha. I could ALWAYS eat froyo. I haven’t had it in forever! The weather has no effect ;D
annnnd now i want froyo!
I think I stole your appetite – sorry about that. I’ve been double-hungry lately, and I’m sick of it! And yes… I can totally eat ice cream when it’s cold out. Peppermint ice cream is one of my favs.
Hahaha well my appetite returned this morning, so I’m glad to have it back! 😉
Weirdly enough, the few times I tend to crave ice cream are in the winter. Strange how that happens…
And I need to be better about having back up frozen meals in the freezer. Just in case…
Girl, I can eat ice cream ANY time. Even when I am stuffed to the brim, I can somehow squeeze in ice cream. It seriously is my downfall!!
I wish it wasnt so cold here so that I could manage a smoothie and yogurt in the morning but there is just no way!! My hands would freeze off lol
Haha yeah its like 63 degrees here today, so a smoothie hit the spot! 🙂
I have trouble with hummus too! Chick peas are notoriously hard to digest, and a lot of people have that problem. Great blog 🙂 First time commenting, but I have you on my reader!
Aw thanks so much for the comment! 🙂 I think I might have to take a break from chickpeas for a bit and see what happens! 🙁
I always eat ice cream when its cold! Nothing stops me! Haha 😀
I had a day like that last week and it was weird as I am usually always hungry! Your eats still look pretty awesome though. Yum for Joseph Gordon-Levitt! 😉
I’m rarely NOT hungry…and often, when I’m thinking I’m hungry I have to remind myself that I’m not actually hungry…I just love to eat (and procrastinate with food)!
I can definitely eat ice cream when it’s cold out—as long as I’m not cold when I’m eating it!
I loathe those appetite-less days. They’re so awkward! Although I sure like the looks of that green monster smoothie!
And I seem to crave ice cream and cold smoothies more in the winter than the summer, it’s so freaky!
Hope your appetite returns!
