What I [Actually] Ate Wednesday
First off, it’s What I Ate Wednesday, from the fabulous Jenn, who needs to find us tickets to Foster the People in Richmond so we can go together. (Got that, Jenn?)
Normally, I don’t play the WIAW game very well, because I tend to think that all my eats are boring, and I end up sharing something else. But not today. Today I’m going to do things right. So this is what I ate… on Tuesday.
Except for breakfast. Because I’ve been eating the same thing over and over. You can see it on my last WIAW post, if you really must see it again. So instead, I’ll give you my awkward “I’m so happy I don’t have to go to work, but instead I get to go paint a mural at an elementary school this morning” look.
Yep, that’s the look.
After painting, I went into work and threw together this salad, which has been my standard lunch. It’s not exciting. It’s some greens + balsamic vinegar. This was consumed with some soy crisps and a handful of cashews, courtesy of the snack cart at work.
But then there was an earthquake… and that freaked everyone out, especially me.I don’t have any pictures to show… but… it seemed important, so insert mental freak out<here>.
As soon as I get home from work, I’m usually hungry (maybe because that salad really isn’t too filling…) so I grab a snack. It’s usually either cereal or a smoothie. Today, Yesterday, it was a smoothie.
1/2 banana, 1 cup soymilk, 6 drops vanilla stevia, handful of ice, + heaping spoonful of granola. YUM.
And then “I-hate-everything-about-vegetarian-food” guy came over for dinner. And I made a vegetarian dinner.
Thankfully, I had this meal on my mind since yesterday, when I saw it over at Eat Live Run. I had a hunch that this could please even the pickiest of meat eaters.
And I was correct. I think. It’s honestly hard to tell with these meat eaters. But the plate was eaten, so I suppose that’s a win? (My apologies on the phone-camera pictures… my real camera is not being my friend right now.)
Oh all of the food looks so good. Thanks so much for the great tip on my post!
I have a few breakfast foods that I rotate through, but usually I stick to the same thing each day of the week. It’s simpler and quicker in the mornings on week days 🙂
I saw that recipe on Eat Live Run and bookmarked it – can’t wait to try it!
It’s delicious! And not super hard to make!
EARTHQUAKE.
I was in my car once during a ‘quake. I was busy texting and was all, “Why is the wind shaking my car? That’s some powerful wind.” It wasn’t the wind. I figured that out when my car was rocking back and forth. But I never stopped texting. SKILL.
I also was woken up once at, like, 4:00 in the morning by a quaker. I remember sitting up in bed and yelling out loud, “WHAT THE EFF IS THAT?” My dad came into my room and said it was an earthquake. I said, and I quote, “Eff that shit,” and went back to sleep.
Earthquakes don’t bother me. Obvs.

You’re basically the master of texting. That’s for sure.
Love your happy face, that’s kind of how I look every morning when I leave for work 🙂
I usually eat the same things for breakfast but rotate oats and pancakes. I will throw in some french toast, waffles, eggs n such occasionally..
Love the picture of you. And, I’d very much freak out during an earthquake. A lot.
You know, I tried to actually “play by the rules” and take photos of everything I ate in one day…but halfway through I forgot or got bored or whatever. Maybe ONE day I’ll actually succeed in being “normal” 🙂
Hahaha I know. I don’t think I’ve ever done a real breakfast, lunch, dinner post! Plus, I’m SUCH A snacker… and I don’t feel like taking pictures of all those 😉
Ooh that dish looks good. Gotta check out Eat Live Run.
I used to eat a Greek yogurt and egg scramble with farmer’s market veggies every single morning. Before that, it was bran cereal with berries every single morning. Now, it’s my-kids’-leftovers every single morning. All seem to work pretty well!
The earthquake freaked me out mainly because I had no idea that it happened and I went to call my mom cause she sent me a text and I couldn’t get a hold of her because of the air waves and then I really started to panic and I went to my car and turned on my radio and was all -holy cow! she was right!-
That was my minor freak out.
I love to keep my breakfasts the same, my lunch the same, and my dinners well pretty much the same. I’m pretty boring at the moment. hehe
Haha it WAS crazy! I couldn’t get a hold of anyone. Twitter was the only thing that I could get! haha
I’ve been eating the same thing for breakfast every day because I am totally obsessed with it! I usually eat the same thing every day, then I’ll eat something else for a few weeks, then something else… when I find something I like, I’ll eat it as often as possible!
