What I [Actually] Ate Wednesday
First off, it’s What I Ate Wednesday, from the fabulous Jenn, who needs to find us tickets to Foster the People in Richmond so we can go together. (Got that, Jenn?)
Normally, I don’t play the WIAW game very well, because I tend to think that all my eats are boring, and I end up sharing something else. But not today. Today I’m going to do things right. So this is what I ate… on Tuesday.
Except for breakfast. Because I’ve been eating the same thing over and over. You can see it on my last WIAW post, if you really must see it again. So instead, I’ll give you my awkward “I’m so happy I don’t have to go to work, but instead I get to go paint a mural at an elementary school this morning” look.
Yep, that’s the look.
After painting, I went into work and threw together this salad, which has been my standard lunch. It’s not exciting. It’s some greens + balsamic vinegar. This was consumed with some soy crisps and a handful of cashews, courtesy of the snack cart at work.
But then there was an earthquake… and that freaked everyone out, especially me.I don’t have any pictures to show… but… it seemed important, so insert mental freak out<here>.
As soon as I get home from work, I’m usually hungry (maybe because that salad really isn’t too filling…) so I grab a snack. It’s usually either cereal or a smoothie. Today, Yesterday, it was a smoothie.
1/2 banana, 1 cup soymilk, 6 drops vanilla stevia, handful of ice, + heaping spoonful of granola. YUM.
And then “I-hate-everything-about-vegetarian-food” guy came over for dinner. And I made a vegetarian dinner.
Thankfully, I had this meal on my mind since yesterday, when I saw it over at Eat Live Run. I had a hunch that this could please even the pickiest of meat eaters.
And I was correct. I think. It’s honestly hard to tell with these meat eaters. But the plate was eaten, so I suppose that’s a win? (My apologies on the phone-camera pictures… my real camera is not being my friend right now.)
I want your dinner like now! Omg how yummy 😀
my breakfast are usually the same, love the idea of foodling people with veggiue food hehe
I do eat the same thing every day…oatmeal. But once in a while I’ll get on a different kick – banana soft serve last week, French toast this week – and eat for a few days running. In the end, I usually find my way back to oatmeal before too long.
I eat the same darn things all of the time…sometimes I try to change it up but then I end up missing my usual meals! That dinner looks fabulous, love all the veggies!
happy WIAW 🙂
How’d you get out of normal work? I wanna go paint murals! 🙂 The dinner looks wonderful. I eat meat, and I would love it. Then again, I love beans n’ cheese too!
I definitely eat the same thing every morning. Except that I was FORCED to change this up today. Me=not so happy with change 🙂 And next time I have polenta on hand, I’m making that tamale pie! So easy and tasty-looking. I love the idea of granola sprinkled in smoothies, too. Since I eat mine with a spoon anyway.
I think smoothies are best eaten with a spoon! It feels like ice cream 🙂 and I love the crunch of granola! Sometimes I add in chia seeds too!
I eat hot oats every single day…never get sick of ’em 😉
ahhh the earthquake was super freaky, i definitely don’t want any more of them! i am totally guilty of eating the sameeeeee breakfast every morning (whipped oat bran w/ mashed banana, chia seeds, raisins, coconut oil and peanut butter), but it’s one of my favorite combos to eat ever, tastes awesome and keeps me full for hours so i just can’t seem to give it up! 🙂
I’ve had oatmeal (obviously) but I’ve never had oatbran! I need to try this. I’ve heard it makes things really creamy!
Oh my, that tamale pie looks absolutely amazing. I eat the same breakfasts on rotation. If it ain’t broke!
what a fun photo! hope you get tix to Foster the People 🙂
Glad the earthquake wasn’t disastrous. I’ve been in a few, but nothing that big. Still a crazy feeling.
My breakfasts are always the same. Cream of rice and peanut butter. love it.
