These waffle breakfast sandwiches are made with whole-grain waffles, sweet apple slices, and salty almond butter. It’s the perfect morning meal to keep you satisfied until lunchtime!
What’s better than waffles for breakfast? A waffle breakfast sandwich! These are made with Van’s® Power Grains® Waffles, which are good for you and delicious! Their waffles are non-GMO Project Verified and vegan. Plus, they make delicious gluten-free waffles! For this recipe, I used Van’s Power Grains Waffles. They have 10g of protein per serving, and they’re made with nutritious grains like cracked red wheat, steel-cut oats, millet, and brown rice.
If you need something to keep you fueled all day long, these waffles are the answer! To turn this into a fun meal, I added sliced apples, salty almond butter, and a sprinkle of cinnamon! Van’s makes a variety of waffles, so you could also try this with Organic Blueberry Waffles or Gluten-Free Apple Cinnamon Waffles! Both options are delicious with the crunchy apples and salty almond butter.
Tips for the Perfect Waffle Sandwich
- Slice the apple into very thin slices, so it’s easier to eat. Stack a few slices on top of each other for more crunch.
- Salted almond butter is my favorite, and it’s easier to spread onto the waffle when it’s right out of the toaster!
- Add a sprinkle of cinnamon for a little extra sweet flavor!
How to Make a Waffle Sandwich
Start by toasting the waffles until they’re nice and crispy.
Add a tablespoon of almond butter to one side of one waffle for each sandwich.
Next, add thinly sliced apples onto the almond butter side.
Then sprinkle cinnamon on top of the apple slices.
Slice the sandwich into halves or wedges!

Van’s also makes a variety of Gluten Free Crackers! I have lots of gluten free friends, so I try to keep a box of the Multigrain Crackers around. They’re perfect for a cheese plate! The Multigrain Crackers contain 16g of whole grains, including oats, quinoa, and amaranth. The next time you need a quick and easy breakfast, give this waffle sandwich a try!
