What I Ate: Sunday
Sunday wasn’t a very typical day of meals which is why I thought I’d share. Not everyday is filled with vegetables! 😉
Alex and I had breakfast at Can Can, one of our favorite breakfast spots. The food is good but the ambiance is the very best part. I had 1/2 a broiled grapefruit and a croissant. The croissant was buttery, flaky, and perfect. This was consumed with many, many cups of coffee. We read the paper and had a perfectly relaxing morning. I almost felt guilty for how lovely this was!
Breakfast kept us both pretty full for the rest of the morning so we didn’t end up eating lunch until around 2pm. I made a huge pot of vegetarian chili and we each had a bowl before heading off to church.
It was black beans, kidney beans, tomatoes, corn, onion, garlic, cilantro, and cayenne pepper. This filled us both up!
When we got back from church, my stomach felt really off. We’re usually really early dinner people (like 5:30 or 6) but since we had such a late lunch, we ended up not eating until almost 8. I was planning on making salads + spaghetti but my stomach just wasn’t settled and I was afraid lots of raw vegetables would make things worse. We ended up splitting this macaroni and cheese dinner from Trader Joe’s.
After dinner, I felt so much better and I ended up having more of an appetite so I went back in the kitchen for some snacks. Alex and I shared some popcorn and I had a few frozen grapes for something sweet. I loooove frozen grapes, especially when it’s warm out. It’s such a perfect summer treat!
All in all, it might not have been the “healthiest” day of eats but it’s what sounded good! Luckily, it’s really all about balance 🙂
Does your stomach ever have “off” days?

Mmmmm croissants 🙂
A broiled grapefruit? That is pretty awesome and so unique. It’s something I would absolutely love to try. There are def a few restaurants that I like just because of the ambiance!
Oh wow, that breakfast looks absolutely amazing! Nothing beats a warm croissant and coffee. Weekend breakfasts are the best 🙂
I am SO obsessed with frozen grapes right now! They seriously taste like candy to me 🙂
Nice! It actually sounds like the perfect day of comfort meals! (Loved the balance of croissant and coffee with broiled grapefruit!)

I think we all have off days, I especially have lately! 😉 But, I think listening to your body is important so good for you!
