What I [Packed] Wednesday
This afternoon, I’m heading to Tennessee for Bonnaroo, a huge music festival, where I will camp for 5 days. Yes, camp.
I went camping once. For one night. It was… an experience. (Brett, I’m sorry for waking you up in the middle of the night freaking out about a bear that wasn’t actually outside our tent.) So this 5 day camping adventure should be interesting.
Since it’s What I Ate Wednesday, I thought it would be appropriate to show you what I packed on Wednesday.
I’ve packed all the normal people essentials. Sleeping bag, pillow, poncho, flashlight, etc. But then I had to pack my food essentials. Much more thought went into these. Since I’m not going to want to try to cook much, I packed simple staples:
Assortment of bars
Kashi GoLean, Luna, & Larabars
Nuts & Cereal
Cashews & Peanut Butter, and a box of Kashi back there 🙂
Cracker-type things
Wheat Thins & Goldfish Grahams (go ahead, judge this packaged food, I know, I know.)
Fruit
Apples, lemons (love me some lemon) and bananas!
I also packed lots of water! And my vitamins, because I’m cool like that. I’m probably the only person packing vitamins. But I’m ok with that.
What do you pack when you’re traveling?
Since I’ll be gone, the lovely Kat from keepinthefaith is doing a guest post for me on Friday! Make sure you check back to see an awesome recipe!
Hope you’re all having a great week! I’ll be back on Monday!
<3 Liz
you’ll be just a couple hours from me! my roommate (and a zillion of my friends) are leaving tonight/tomorrow. i actually considered going this year, but the heat just isn’t my thing. 🙂 pack lots of sunscreen and have a BLAST!
I like the idea of camping, but I HATE being dirty! Ugh, I used to camp with my parents all the time when I was a kid and I was just miserable. I like nature, but I need showers 🙂
Have a lovely time camping! I went camping once in the mountains and it was awful, because I upset some bees and they chased after me, then while we were eating outside, animals appeared and an actual little bear tried to steal our food! Needless to say, camping is not a good memory but hopefuy it will be better for you 🙂
Have a fantastic time at Bonnaroo! I’ve heard so many great things about it!! Your snacks all look delish, totally all things I’d bring too! Come back with lots of stories!
I totally could not camp for five days, I admire you for that! The eats look nice, and I am not judging for the pre-packaged foods. Sometimes they are life savers, and all things in moderation right!
I go with an 80-20 rule for packaged foods 🙂 as long as 80% of the time you’re healthy and wholesome, that 20% of packaged goodies isn’t gonna kill ya 😉 enjoy your campout at the music festival! sounds like fun!
xo
Oh how I love a fellow snack-packer. 🙂 I often spend way too much time worrying about what I will eat…as opposed to what I will wear. Perhaps I should start a “What Not to Eat” show on TLC?
Have fun! I’m jealous of your festival-ing…
[And whatever. Goldfish and Wheat Thins are delicious. Anyone who says otherwise is lying through their styrofoam rice cake.]
Hahahaha if you start a “What Not to Eat” show, I’m totally DVRing it 😉 And I’m glad you’re with me on the Wheat Thins and Goldfish 😉
I pack little bars, too! I’d probably bring along plenty of nut butters and oatmeal and a bit of tofu, too. Although we have an RV with a fridge, so camping that way allows for different food choices! I love tent camping, too. There’s nothing quite like sleeping under the stars 🙂
Haha I’m not sure how I’ll handle the tent camping but there is only one way to find out! 😉
You’ll be in my state! Completely missed that Bonnaroo is happening already. I’ve never gone, but I’m okay with that 😀 Your snacks look goood, have an awesome time!
Omg camping for five days sounds amazing! Do you get to shower? lol Thats my one issue with camping. Usually I just bring some soap and jump in the river to soap up, but I hate having gross greasy hair!
When I travel I always pack some sort of homemade granola or granola bars and some trail mix! Have a great time girl 🙂
