Weekend Eats
I woke up yesterday with a sore throat and a bit of a head cold. My meals always get a little thrown off when I’m feeling under the weather, so I thought it would be more fun to show you what my meals looked like on Sunday.
Because I was awake before my roommates, I decided not to wake up the entire house with my jet-engine-esque blender, and opted for yogurt, blueberries, and half a grapefruit. Sunday mornings also include a cup or two of coffee!
After breakfast, I got my workout in at Gym Quest, in their adult tumbling class. It’s so much fun flipping around, and I’m always sore the next day. You’re never too old for gymnastics, right?
When I got home, I was ready for lunch, so I whipped up a Greek Salad that hit the spot.
I’m clearly still obsessed with feta. This salad was delicious, but since it’s so low in calories, I was still kind of hungry. For “dessert” I had a tablespoon of peanut butter. Hey, when you know what you want, you might as well eat it.
I snacked around during the afternoon. A handful of cereal, the other half of the grapefruit from breakfast. You know how it goes.
Dinner was the White Pizza Scramble I posted on Monday.
I also had one two glasses of wine, and a bowl of Special K Cinnamon Pecan cereal before going to bed.
Overall, I tried to mix up my meals a little for a little more fat and protein, and a little less carbs. There might have been some confusion on Monday’s post… I’m not cutting back on calories what-so-ever. I’m just mixing things up a bit since I’ve been in a bit of a rut! I still had plenty of fruit and cereal, but I definitely noticed I felt more full and satisfied when my meals contained a good mix of protein and fat.
Gosh, I hope you feel better!
That’s too funny about not waking up your housemates with the blender. In the morning I was always super cautious about using our gargantuan food processor, so I’d put all of the ingredients in it, take it up to my room, wrap it in a blanket to act as a muffle, and blend away! haha 🙂
I had a lot of bananas today. But I wish I had been eating that pizza scramble– Look at that awesome protein count!
Hahaha I’ve done the towel trick with my blender!! I’m glad I’m not the only one haha!
Your pictures are all so pretty! Adult tumbling sounds like a LOT of fun.
It’s my favorite workout of the week for sure!
Today? I just had a bowl of brown rice and carrot lentil curry…fairly good on protein, but could have been better.
Nut(ty) butters are my ‘dessert’ every night. It is a habit I cannot break.
Why would you ever even consider giving up a dessert like that?! 😉
Sorry to hear that you’re feeling a little under the weather… hope you feel better soon! And that adult tumbling class sounds so cool – I’d love to try something like that, but I’ve never seen it offered at my gym.
I have to go to an actual gymnastics gym for it but it’s totally worth it!!
I’ve never heard of an adult tumbling class. Sounds like a lot of fun :). Yum, all of the sudden I have the hankering for some grapefruit ;). Though, I’m holding out for the big pummelo grapefruits to come out – those are my favorite. Happy Halloween!
I have to ask did you like the greek yogurt? I had it yesterday and was not much of a fan..I had to drizzle some caramel in it just to make it palatable…am i missing something?
I love plain Greek yogurt! I put stevia and fruit in mine. I definitely don’t like it plain! Try adding some NuNaturals stevia in it and see if that’s better!
Yes Feta is the best! That is so cool that you take a tumbling class, its totally different, and would so much fun to flip around! Hope you feel better 🙂
YUMYUMYUM to the white pizza scramble!!
That’s right. Never too old for tumbling!!
Hope you’re feeling better! That pizza scramble looks really good 🙂
I always forget about grapefruit. They’re large and intimidating. TWSS?? Today I’m eating eggs & avocado, chili, coconut almonds…probably a ton more food.
