The Perks of Traveling
Don’t mess with my routine. Don’t.
Seriously. I don’t like that. I’m really easy going with most things. But there are certain things I just don’t like getting messed with. One of those is breakfast. I want breakfast, I want the newspaper, I want coffee. Please don’t mess with that.
But when I’m traveling, everything gets messed up. (Yes, I had to read the NY Times instead of the Wall Street Journal. Oh my gosh my life is so hard. 😉 )
However, there are some perks:
Perk #1- Free Food Everywhere
Sometimes I don’t like this, because it’s like being tempted with food all the time. But free Kashi bars? I’m not complaining.
This was the Kashi TLC Trail Mix Bar. Packs in 4g fiber and 6g protein, for 140 calories. YES!
Please note the blue leopard shoes in the background.
Perk #2- A gym at the hotel!
Not just a gym, but a gym that (apparently) no one else uses! How much do I love having the gym to myself? A lot.
Perk #3- New running routes!
I’m about to go attempt an outdoor run. It’s not that the temperatures are bad, and it’s certainly not the scenery… it’s that I don’t normally run very much. Wish me luck. (Note: That’s the ‘shoe for those of you college football fans. Anyone know where I am?) 🙂
Other unpicutred perks include: Someone else making my bed, Kerug coffee maker, chocolates on my pillow, and, oh yeah, catching up with old friends 😉
Somehow the hotels where we stay when traveling never have workout rooms.
Traveling always throws me off when it comes to meals and workouts. I feel like I’m on vacation so I can just eat whatever I want, but then I end up feeling so bad about myself! I try to plan my meals out ahead of time and always bring snacks for when I get hungry 🙂
I do like to workout when I travel. Usually just running, but if there’s a gym where I am I throw in some weight training too! 🙂
