Restaurant Week! (WIAW)
Here in Richmond, it’s “Restaurant Week” which means you can try out a new restaurant, for $25.11, and some of the proceeds are donated to the food bank! This is a deal you can’t pass up π
We decided to take a trip to Rowland Fine Dining. The restaurant was lovely, but the lighting wasn’t so great, so I apologize for the pictures!
The pictures certainly don’t do it justice.
I started with a hummus platter. It came with toasted bread topped withΒ caramelizedΒ onions, roasted red peppers, and olives. (I don’t like olives, but my friend Emily does!)
This was followed by eggplantΒ Parmesan, which I’d never had before, but I LOVED!
The meal was finished off with “Derby Pie” which was some sort of chocolate/pecan?walnut? pie. It was pretty amazing, and I ate almost all of it, despite being super full!
Apparently dessert wasn’t all we were in for! Our server also brought us watermelon vodka shooters! (Pretty tasty!)
Nice touch, waiter man π It was a fun meal, and everything tastes better when eaten with friends! I would definitely go back here, but I will say, it’s on the pricy side. (Obviously, being restaurant week, it was cheaper, but keep it in mind if you’re checking it out!)
This post timed perfectly to participate in What I Ate Wednesday!
Even though technically, it’s what I ate Tuesday π
The rest of life (you know, the small fraction of my life that doesn’t revolve around food blogging) has been super busy, but lots of fun! Now that the weather is warm, I feel like life is bursting with activity!! (Clarifying, it’s been busy with socialΒ activities, so I have no complaints.) I’m currently debating how personal to get in the blogosphere. It’s always a strange thing, because I honestly have no idea who reads this. (I know how many people read it… but not really who…) Sooo while that debate continues on in my head… I’ll stick to the food!
If you’re a blogger, do you get personal on your blog? If you’re just a reader, do you like it when people get personal on their blog?
Does anyone else feel like they get busier when the weather warms up?
<3 Liz
oooh, restaurant week is awesome! looks like you get a good meal! π
i get personal on my blog & i really like when others do too. the blogs i keep reading are the ones where i can actually feel like i know the person.
Restaurant Week sounds like a ton of fun! I definitely get busier when the weather gets warmer! I want to do so many things haha!
well, in Minnesota summer definitely gets busier because its the three months out of the year that people can be outside haha. The pecan/ chocolate pie looks yummy, and I don’t even like pie usually!
I’m always nervous about getting too personal! But I toss in snippits of my life just b/c i can’t help it! =) I regret making it public to “friends” though b/c I have gotten made fun of!
anywho! your restaurant week eats look sooooo delicious! I want that shooter and eggplant parm! <3
Hahaha I absolutely agree!!! I only told a couple of people, but a few others have found it through various ways (one time I accidentally tweeted a post on my personal twitter… oops) hahaha and so sometimes people make fun of me, but it’s all in fun! π
i FOR sure get personal on my blog- maybe a bit too personal?? ahha no, im just.. ME!
i love when bloggers get personal- you can really connect and relate to them better!
I remember trying eggplant parmesan one time on a cruise and fell in love with it. So much flavor it was amazing.
I do tend to get pretty personal on my blog, I write about a lot of my life and I enjoy readers who are also personal bc I find that it definitely seems to interconnect us π
Oooo restaurant weeks are so fun…such a great excuse to try something new!
I only share about 25% personal on my blog…too many possible ramifications if I share too much π
I definitely get busier when the weather gets warmer b/c the last thing I want to do is sit inside when the weather is nice!
I get personal on my blog, and I enjoy readin gothers personal thoughts….I don’t uncover EVERYTHING going on in my life, but I do share my struggles, frustrations, celebrations etc. π
i want some derby pie! i get pretty personal on my blog..or i just don’t have a filter. but i don’t talk too much about my immediately family.
I got pretty personal yesterday with my calorie post, and I share a lot about my family struggles, so I guess I do like showing a bit more about myself π I just dont want you guys to have some fantasy about me that isnt true. I want you to see the REAL me, whether you like it or not! π
I loved that post by the way!!!
