Birthday Cake Protein Shake
This birthday cake protein shake tastes like dessert for breakfast but it’s loaded with protein to keep you full and energized all day long!
I’m one of those people that can’t function without breakfast. And I try to keep breakfast pretty healthy, to start the day off on the right foot. But just because breakfast is healthy doesn’t mean it can’t taste like dessert! This Birthday Cake Protein Shake is the perfect way to start your day!
I recently tried About Time Birthday Cake Protein Powder and I’m obsessed! So I whipped up this little shake. Ok, so this is actually only half of it. It made a huge serving. But I’m not complaining! If you want some tips on how to create the best smoothies at home, check out this post on how to make super thick smoothies!
Blend everything except the sprinkles in a blender or food processor until smooth. Freezing the banana is the key to making it extra thick! You can also add a tiny pinch of xanthan gum if you want to make it a little thicker. (If xanthan gum freaks you out, it shouldn’t! I use it every time I forget to freeze my banana ahead of time.)

You’re not the last person in the world to try that protein powder… I’ve never had it either 😛 I kind of go through phases with protein powder. Sometimes I use a lot of it, and then other times I completely forget about it. There are some combos that I can NEVER go without, though. Chocolate and AB. AB and bananas. Yogurt and honey. Hummus and jam… addicted 😀
Rice & butter and oatmeal and peanut butter are dominating my life right now!
Yummm you can’t go wrong with oats and peanut butter!
Never heard of that protein powder! My favorite thing lately is peanut flour… I add it to everything!! <3
I haven’t had the about time protein powder but the muscle milk isssss gooooood
Those are some great nutritional stats for something that is essentially a milkshake. Love it! I prefer to get my protein in others way besides powders as well, but I may have to check out this birthday cake flavored powder. :]
I know, isn’t it crazy? I love how protein packed it is!! It keeps me full for hours!
ummm i’m getting that fashO! thankss
I really want to get my hands on some of this About Time protein powder! The flavor sounds amazing! What a pretty smoothie, I love the sprinkles! 🙂
YUM! Haha I have been craving sweet and savory combos for abit 🙂
Hmmm, I’ve never tried whey protein (I use a plant protein mix), but now I’m interested.
Honestly, I’m not a big fan of protein powders, but I think whey tastes the best! I’d kind of prefer a vegan protein powder but… I just can’t beat the taste!
Dude isn’t that about time powder amazing?! So good 🙂
Lately I’ve been craving lots of combos like sweet potato and nut butter in smoothie form, crumbled up muffins in Greek yogurt, and carrots with peanut butter mmm
Hope you have a grand weekend!
