What I Ate [to celebrate] Wednesday!
Remember when I tweeted that I had good news but I could say what? Well now I can say it ๐
I got promoted at work!
I’m pretty excited about it! I don’t talk about my job much on here (because, that’s kind of blogging 101 of things NOT to do) but I love my job (I work in marketing) so I’m excited to take on some new responsibility.
Anyways! So it was a fun day at work, of course. That’s why this is a celebratory What I Ate Wednesday!
Go join the party over at peasandcrayons
!
I started off with a fun breakfast:
Classic smoothie: 1 banana, 1/2 cup soymilk, 1 tbsp peanut butter, handful of ice, stevia and chia seeds. (I smeared the peanut butter around the inside of the glass!)
Morning snack:
I’ve been eating those peanut butter heady goo balls in the morning. Just a couple are a great pick me up! I usually go to the gym during lunch so these are the perfect thing to eat before a workout.
Lunch:
My lunches have been pretty simple, because I’ve been packing frozen lunches for the most part. It’s saving money, and if you get good ones… it’s pretty healthy!
These are only a couple of bucks, and they taste great! I can eat it quickly, after a lunch time workout, so it’s perfect!
Afternoon snack:
I love these. I love them so much, I don’t buy them very often because I can eat a box way. too. fast. But they’re pretty decent for you, and they’re easy to throw in my work bag for when I get the afternoon munchies.
Dinner:
What better way to celebrate than with Mexican food? We went to Su Casa, one of my favorite local Mexican places.
I had a veggie burrito, without the sour cream and cheese. It was so delicious! Peppers, onions, refried beans…. deliciousness! I forgot to take a picture until I was done eating… so you’re only seeing the half that went into a to-go box! (Obviously, the restaurant lighting made for some horrible picture taking.)
Dessert:
No celebration is complete without dessert! We took a trip to Sweet Frog for some fro-yo.
Enough said.
Congrats on the promotion Liz, that’s awesome!! I love the looks of your PB Heady Goo Balls. I’ve been eating mine all week. So yummy!
CONGRATS on the promotion!!!
CONGRATS!!! That’s such great news. ๐
Congratulations on your promotion!! Very exciting ๐
I LOVE the idea of putting peanut butter on the side of your glass. I put peanut butter in my smoothies for satiety but I miss the texture, so this is kind of mind-blowing for me, haha.
Congrats! I think Mexican food is appropriately celebratory too!
Congratulations! You definitely deserved that celebratory dinner (and I feel your pain re: trying to take decent pictures in dark restaurants). The last thing I celebrated?? Hmm, well the birth of my nephew but we haven’t had an official celebration yet (the new parents are too pooped!)… so before that was my birthday, which I celebrated with Thai food and chocolate lava cake ๐
I love having a sweet little ball of protein to get me through the day.
Oh I can’t remember the last time I celebrated, but I need to find a reason!
Congrats girl on the promotion!!!! So happy for you! we love celebrations ๐
Congrats on the promotion! So exciting :). Your breakfast looks delicious! I’m definitely trying that out sometime this week.
That smoothie looks delicious… I would never think to smear the pb on the glass lilke that. Great idea!
Congrats on your promotion!
