West Coast Eats
I’m going to keep this short since I’m still on vacation, and trying not to spend a lot of time on my computer. Of course, I couldn’t resist jumping in with a little What I Ate Wednesday to show you some of my west coast favorites.
Breakfast
My favorite breakfast so far was definitely the brunch I mentioned on Monday. I was smitten with the little carafe of French Press coffee.
I’ll pretend like I wasn’t slightly confused on how and when to actually drink the coffee. It was still quaint and lovely.
On our way out of Seattle, we stopped by a Mediterranean place for lunch, and I had some delicious falafel. We were the only people in the restaurant, which was strange, but the food was delicious, and reasonably priced.
Nothing like a little tahini drizzled on top.
After a quick stop to see the Washington capital, we crossed the border into Oregon, and arrived in Portland. Shortly after checking into our hotel, we took a long walk around the city, and stopped in at a pasta place that a co-worker had recommended.
Justa Pasta had very reasonably priced pasta and wine, so Alex and I split a bottle of a Portuguese red, and I had a plate of three cheese ravioli with marinara sauce. This totally hit the spot.
We’re headed out of Portland later today, and heading towards Napa Valley. Follow me on Instagram to see more pictures!
Even not being a coffee drinker I always thought the French press carafes looked adorable when I was waitressing at a little café. Such a lot more upscale and nicer compared to a simple cup of coffee placed in front of a customer.
Those falafel look awesome. It’s beem quite a while since I last had some.
Other than places in the countryside my favourite city to visit would have to be Berlin so far. There’s such a lot to do, see – and obviously eat, too.
Jealous of your west coast excursion! I’ve never been to that part of the country, but Napa Valley is one of the top spots on my bucket list to visit. Enjoy your vacation and all the delicious food!
For me it has to be Italy or the US. However I’m off on my honeymoon at the end of the month so that may all change. Hope you are having a fab holiday! 🙂
So much yummyness! I think falafel is probably one of my favorite foods. When I visited California I was obsessed with their frozen yogurt place called Yogurtland.
Ohh I’ve heard of that place! I’ll have to check it out when we get to California!
Yum everything looks delish! I could go for a nice bowl of ravioli right now! My favorite vacation spot is St. Maarten!
Ohh I’ve never been there but I’ve heard it’s gorgeous!
Can’t wait to see your Instagram shots! Have an amazing trip filled with delicious eats 🙂
That all looks so delicious! I’ve never been that far West, but have to admit, it looks lovely!
Seattle and Portland are top of my list! If only for the amazing restaurants and cafes’ it has on offer!!! Jealous! The Flying Apron is meant to be a sensational bakery with vegan friendly gluten free options!!!
I’ve seen so many vegan and gluten free places in the Pacific Northwest! It’s amazing!
Yummy falafels! Pleas be sure to drink plenty of vino in Napa Valley! London is my favorite vacation spot- love the simultaneous familiarity and potential to try something new over here!
I’ll definitely be trying plenty of wine 😉 I can’t wait!
Oh yum! All of that looks delicious! Now I want Greek food! It’s the one thing I haven’t had since getting back state side!
