West Coast Eats
I’m going to keep this short since I’m still on vacation, and trying not to spend a lot of time on my computer. Of course, I couldn’t resist jumping in with a little What I Ate Wednesday to show you some of my west coast favorites.
Breakfast
My favorite breakfast so far was definitely the brunch I mentioned on Monday. I was smitten with the little carafe of French Press coffee.
I’ll pretend like I wasn’t slightly confused on how and when to actually drink the coffee. It was still quaint and lovely.
On our way out of Seattle, we stopped by a Mediterranean place for lunch, and I had some delicious falafel. We were the only people in the restaurant, which was strange, but the food was delicious, and reasonably priced.
Nothing like a little tahini drizzled on top.
After a quick stop to see the Washington capital, we crossed the border into Oregon, and arrived in Portland. Shortly after checking into our hotel, we took a long walk around the city, and stopped in at a pasta place that a co-worker had recommended.
Justa Pasta had very reasonably priced pasta and wine, so Alex and I split a bottle of a Portuguese red, and I had a plate of three cheese ravioli with marinara sauce. This totally hit the spot.
We’re headed out of Portland later today, and heading towards Napa Valley. Follow me on Instagram to see more pictures!
The ravs look divine. Nothing like a good red sauce accompanied by some wine! I have too many favorite vacation spots, but I think if I had the chance to soon return anywhere it would be a nice fall trip up to Maine or Vermont or New Hampshire. It’s just beautiful up there.
Ohh the north east is so gorgeous this time of year! We had a family reunion in Boston last fall and it was amazing!
Nommmmm! That food looks delightful! Hope you’re having fun out there.
I’ve been to the west coast a few times, mostly ski trips and southern california, but I would LOVE to do Portland/Seattle! Enjoy the rest of your trip!
Mmmm that pasta looks divine! Glad you are enjoying your vacation 🙂
I’ve never really been to the West coast, only when I have layovers, so I’d like to go over there to see what it’s like. Especially Seattle.
That looks like such a fun trip so far and that pasta looks amazing! My favorite vacation spot so far is Mexico, mostly cause I got married there but also cause the beaches are incredible. Can’t wait to see your Napa pictures!
Those falafels look wonderful! I’m going to be cliche and say Hawaii, but it really is perfect there 🙂
Tim has a french coffee press and I have yet to figure out how to use it LOL. I’m glad you are having great meals over there and I am slightly jealous. 🙂
This sounds like such a fun trip! My favorite vacation spot inside the US is La Jolla, CA. It’s so beautiful out there! And outside the US, I would have to say Turks and Caicos. I would go back there in a heartbeat. 🙂
All your meals look delicious, but I think the ravioli sounds the best – perhaps it’s because I’ve been craving a good bowl of pasta for quite sometime =) Enjoy the rest of your vacation, Liz!
