I love making smoothie bowls for breakfast, and now I can enjoy delicious Açaí bowls without taking a trip to the smoothie shop! If you’re not familiar with açaí berries, they’re a type of fruit with tons of health benefits. For this recipe, I used frozen blackberries and frozen raspberries, plus a few slices of avocado to add a creamy texture without added sugar. If you like your smoothie sweeter, try it with a frozen banana instead!

How to Make a Smoothie Bowl

Here are my tips to ensure you get a thick and creamy smoothie bowl:

  • Don’t add too much liquid. Start with just a splash of almond milk and then add more, as needed to blend the smoothie.
  • If you want to add protein powder or spinach, blend the protein powder and/or spinach with about ¼ of almond milk first. That will help ensure it blends smoothly.
  • Be sure the fruit is frozen when blending so that you get a thick, spoonable consistency.

Ingredients

  • 1 Sambazon Açaí Superfruit Pack, Original Blend
  • ½ cup frozen blackberries

  • ½ cup frozen raspberries

  • ½ cup almond milk

  • ¼ cup avocado or ½ small banana

  • ½ cup ice cubes

  • Sweetener to taste, if desired

  • Granola, berries, or other toppings


Instructions

  1. Add all ingredients to a blender and blend until smooth.
  2. Add more almond milk, if necessary.
  3. Top with granola, berries, or other smoothie bowl toppings.
