Red Wine Vinegar Dressing
This tasty red wine vinegar dressing is delicious drizzled over a bed of greens or tossed with your favorite vegetables! This simple vinaigrette comes together in just a few minutes!
What is Red Wine Vinegar?
Red wine vinegar made from fermented red wine. Technically, it does contain trace amounts of alcohol, but not enough to have much of an effect on your body. It has a robust, tangy taste that provides lots of flavor for this simple vinaigrette recipe!
How to Make Red Wine Vinegar Dressing
This simple dressing only takes a few minutes to whisk together! Simply combine the olive oil, red wine vinegar, dijon mustard, salt, and pepper and whisk until combined!
Drizzle this red wine vinegar dressing over a bed of mixed greens for an easy, simple salad!
How to Avoid Separation
The oil and vinegar will separate after a few minutes. This isn’t an issue if you’re serving the salad immediately, but if you’d like to make this dressing in advance, simply add 1 teaspoon of mayonnaise. This will stabilize the dressing and prevent it from separating.
The Best Salads for Red Wine Vinegar Dressing
This dressing is incredible versatile! It’s light enough for delicate greens like arugula or spinach, but it’s also flavorful enough for a crunchier leaf like romaine. My favorite way to use it is on top of a Greek salad with romaine lettuce, red onion, tomato, cucumber, and feta cheese.
How to Store Salad Dressing
Leftover salad dressing can be refrigerated for up to two weeks. Do not freeze dressing. If the dressing separates, simply whisk or shake well before serving. You can also double or triple this recipe if you’d like to prepare the dressing in advance.
Best Brands of Red Wine Vinegar
Red wine vinegar can vary significantly in flavor and price. I like the Napa Valley brand which is organic and reasonably priced. Also, Pompeian makes a great budget-friendly option!
