The Ultimate Guide to Probiotic Cocktails
Shake up your cocktail routine by adding some good-for-your-gut probiotics to the mix! Believe it or not, these beneficial beverages can actually take your drink to the next level! From kombucha to drinking vinegar, these recipes will make your tastebuds happy!
What are probiotics?
Let’s start with the basics. What are probiotics? They’re simply live microorganisms that provide health benefits by improving or restoring the gut flora. Probiotics are often found in things like yogurt and fermented foods like kombucha, tempeh, and kimchi. Don’t worry, we won’t put tempeh in your cocktails.
Can you use probiotics in a cocktail?
Yes! The most common way to add probiotics into your cocktail is with kombucha. Kombucha is a fermented tea and it makes a delicious drink mixer! Other probiotic mixers are shrubs and drinking vinegars. These can be a little harder to track down, but keep an eye out for them! You can also use apple cider vinegar as a drink mixer!

I find that kefir is wonderful for baking. Not a fan of the taste outside of that. As for probiotics, I’m not sure what I think. I tried taking pills a few years ago for IBS, and they made me feel worse. Perhaps I was already getting enough in my diet. But, just like you did with the gluten-free approach, you should definitely gauge how you feel increasing your probiotic intake…. Perhaps it’ll make a positive impact.
Haha! I’m not the only one who feels like fancy restaurants wouldn’t understand my need to snap a million pictures of my entrée.
I’ve never had kefir either but it sure does look tasty!
Probiotics are awesome. I love the probiotics in yogurt. The one thing that really bugs me, though, is Activia. From everything I can tell it’s just yogurt! There’s nothing special about it, but people think it cures cancer and is greater than all other yogurts.
End rant.
sorry to hear about the class being lame, but hey at least now you know right?!
And I have tried kefir. I actually do like it, but they only carry one flavor around me, and I got super bored really quick! I typically dont care about flavorings, but it was strawberry. I wouldve preferred if it was plain so I could dress it up however I wanted!
I really like Kefir! it’s a bit expensive, but worth it! I am not sure of all the health probiotic stuff and all of that, but I know it is good for ya 🙂
sorry about your class being no good.
