What I Ate Yesterday
Christmas is quickly approaching and this week has felt a little crazy. All of the last minute to-do’s and social activities seemed to be crammed in the next few days. I’m not complaining but I’d say my body is made of 40% coffee right now. Anyways, let’s jump into the food! Here’s what I ate yesterday:
I started off with a smoothie made with banana, almond cashew milk, ice, peanut flour, and stevia. I also had a little extra peanut butter on the side. This was so good. I never get sick of this combination!
The morning was packed with meetings so by the time lunch rolled around my stomach was rumbling.
I grabbed a mixed greens with a chopped cucumber salad and some pita chips with spinach hummus. This turned out to be super filling!
After lunch, I had a little more coffee and a few bites of this emoji cookie. Because when you see an emoji cookie, you have to at least try it. But I knew my day would contain more cookies so I only had a few bites.
I hit the gym before dinner and managed to get in a decent workout. I’ve been trying to keep up with my workouts because I’m definitely a happier person when I get in regular workouts. Stress buster.
Once I got home, I started making some cookies for a cookie exchange! (Seriously, cookie exchanges are the best.) I made a batch of these chocolate chip pecan bars.
Once dinner time rolled around, I needed something quick and easy so I dug around my freezer and came out with this ravioli from Trader Joe’s. It wasn’t my favorite of all time but it was good.
Apologies for the less than stellar picture. When your camera battery is dead, you make the best of it with an iphone.
After dinner we went to a friends house and I had some wine and a handful of M&Ms. Not a bad way to end the day!
Is anyone else enjoying frozen dinners during the holiday rush?
I’m linking up with What I Ate Wednesday!
The Emoji cookie looks so cute! I would have bought it too! & cookies for exchange is such a good idea! I want to do that too 🙂 & your smoothie looks good. Pb and banana is such a good combo!
i giggled when you said you only took a few bites of that emoji cookie ’cause you knew so many more cookies were in your future. i’m not sure how many people offer me cookies each day? the number is high and gets larger when i’m attending holiday parties! i’ve probably had about 10 different kinds of cookie in the past couple days.. #tistheseason 🙂
Everything looks so good and that emoji cookie looks like one of the best things I’ve ever seen.
That emoji cookie is too cute! Tis the season for easy meals and hey, once January comes round and life cools down, you can always get back in the kitchen and make up for lost time ;)!
Maybe not bought frozen meals, but definitely EVERYTHING right now is some form of leftovers or old meals I have stashed in my freezer. Too many other things to do at this time to worry about cooking anything new. Plus I have to make room in my freezer for all the christmas baking 🙂
I know exactly what you mean about being busy. Lots going on this next week and a half and it’s making me feel a little overwhelmed. That cookie is too cute! But your lunch is what I’m really drooling over 🙂
Haha our cafeteria at work is pretty stellar!
I can’t eat that cookie because it has a smiley face on it! I remember my Dad giving my a happy face cookie as a youngster and I cried and cried. I couldn’t eat the happy face! And it has stuck with me through adulthood.
Hahaha that’s too funny! I wish I could have snagged the heart-eyes emoji. That one is one of my favorites!
I hear you about the coffee!
I haven’t been eating frozen dinners during this holiday rush but I have been eating more sandwiches! I’m OBSESSED with a skinny tuna salad sandwich on Wholesome Harvest 9 Grain Bread 🙂 So delicious!
Forgot to mention – I thought that spinach hummus was guac at first! That whole array looks so tasty to me right now!
The hummus was awesome! Our cafeteria at work always has the best hummus!
