A Blog-spotting Weekend
My camera actually made the rounds with me this weekend, which means I actually have documentation from all the events!
It’s crazy how much the blog-world was integrated into my weekend!
Friday Night
We had a Kentucky Derby themed birthday party for my two roommates, who were both turning 25!
Aww, aren’t we cute? (That’s Stephanie, Rachel, & Me.)
Since we wanted to stick with the Derby theme, we made these mint julep cupcakes:
We followed a recipe similar to this one. (Thank you pinterest + bloggers!) If you like bourbon and mint, you’d love these. I’m not a huge fan of either, so these actually weren’t my thing.
Saturday Night
Eric and I went to the finale show for RVA Fashion Week, which turned out to be pretty cool. It was fun seeing local designers show their stuff! I can’t wait to see the designs pop up in local boutiques!
I totally saw Leney and Larissa doing their fashion-blogging-thing but I didn’t get to say hi! I can’t wait to see their documentation of the show!
Sunday Afternoon
We had a Virginia Bloggers brunch at Stella’s, which was fantastic! You can read all the details here, but let’s just say the food was delicious and the company was fantastic!
Sarah was drawing numbers for a raffle, which is why everyone looks so deep in thought! I had a delicious egg white omelet, which later powered me through a 3 mile run on the treadmill. Despite the rain, I was able to actually get my butt to the gym!
This weekend absolutely flew by and since I’m heading up to DC for a couple days on Tuesday, I should have some interesting food to document for this weeks What I Ate Wednesday!
Ahh, what a cute birthday party theme!
I am so excited to wear that hat this weekend.
If only I knew what I was wearing underneath it.
[Underneath as in, top to bottom. Obvously my hair will be underneath it, literally.]
Sounds like you had a great time. The cupcakes look super cute!
Love the Derby theme! That sounds like so much fun! Looks like a great weekend!
