What I [Threw in my Bag] Wednesday
I love giant bags.
Regular laptop bags don’t do it for me.
I need a bag large enough for the contents of my life.
So for What I Ate Wednesday,
I’m going to admit that I cram a ridiculous amount of crap necessary items in my bag.
What you’ll find in my bag:
- Laptop
- Power cord
- Notebook
- Pens/Pencils
- T-shirt, shorts, sports bra (I keep shoes in my gym locker)
- Ipod/headphones
- Blackberry, iphone (yes, both)
- Water bottle
- Food (see below)
Cereal
Lately, this has been Kelloggs Fiber Plus Cinnamon Oat cereal. 110 calories, and a whoooole lotta fiber. Keeps me full until lunch time!
Crystal Light
Yeah, yeah, yeah, aspartame & artificial sweeteners are the devil and I’m going to die. But I’m trying to ween myself off my daily diet coke habit. So it’s the lesser of two evils. Now get off your high horse and keep reading.
Hummus + Whole Wheat Wraps
It’s still cheaper to get my greens from the cafeteria… but I’ve been bringing my own wraps and hummus to work with me. Yes, I assemble my wraps at my desk. So what? (That cucumber is from my garden!)
And no, I don’t waste money on those travel size packs of hummus. I bring the whole tub of hummus to work.
Fruit
Apple, pear, peach, banana… something. If I don’t have a snack in the afternoon, I will raid the pantry when I get home. (Not pretty.) Sure, I could probably just eat a larger lunch and stay full… but I like looking forward to my daily dose of Vitamin C.
Truvia (Stevia)
Sometimes, I want a little sweet-ness in my coffee (or my greek yogurt) so I like to keep these on hand, just in case!
Praise to carrying your life around in a bag. My fantasy is a huge, supremely organized sack where I can store and easily find all my necessaries. When I worked in an office, I also liked to take my week’s lunch supplies (usually hummus!) on Monday. No thinking about good decisions for the rest of the week; they were already made for me.
The daily diet coke habit is hard to kick, nice job! I pack my lunch, and my breakfast, and assorted snacks. I have a mini-fridge at work, (shhh! not allowed), and I keep it stocked with Greek yogurt, hummus, fruit and veggies. But I bring oatmeal and lunch every day. I often throw wrap ingredients in my bag and assemble at lunch, too 🙂
Wait, the whole tub of hummus isn’t meant to be consumed in one sitting?!
Heh, our giant bags would look very similar!
It’s so cool that you’re from around my hometown 🙂 Love meeting nearby bloggers!
Oh girl, I love Crystal Light! It’s my fav! 🙂
I eat soup almost every day…so I always have a can opener with me!
Every bag I own is supersized – lunch, purse, gym, work, makeup. I need my THINGS! 🙂
A big bag is a necessity for me. Before I can even back out of the drive way one of my kids is saying “im hungry” I pack all kinds of stuff in my bag, granola bars, fruit snacks, drinks, chips, nuts, you name it and it’s probably in there.
I alwayssss have a tea bag in my purse. I used to carry huge bags but then my back started hurting so now i have a tiny crossbody bag!
hy,

love your space..
very interesting posts with really nice presentation…
Am your happy follower now..;)
do stop by mine sometime..
Tasty Appetite
Ha ha! The stuff in your bag is much more fun than mine. Diapers, wipes, pretzel crumbs, etc….. 🙂
I haven’t seen those tortillas yet. are they new? I must try!
I don’t know if they’re new, or if I just never noticed them!
I’ve had that cereal too! I liked it, but didn’t think it kept me as full as Fiber One cereals do. Kashi Go Lean original keeps me full even longer and has less fiber. I think it’s all the protein! I love Crystal Light too so I am not judging!!
