What I [Threw in my Bag] Wednesday
I love giant bags.
Regular laptop bags don’t do it for me.
I need a bag large enough for the contents of my life.
So for What I Ate Wednesday,
I’m going to admit that I cram a ridiculous amount of crap necessary items in my bag.
What you’ll find in my bag:
- Laptop
- Power cord
- Notebook
- Pens/Pencils
- T-shirt, shorts, sports bra (I keep shoes in my gym locker)
- Ipod/headphones
- Blackberry, iphone (yes, both)
- Water bottle
- Food (see below)
Cereal
Lately, this has been Kelloggs Fiber Plus Cinnamon Oat cereal. 110 calories, and a whoooole lotta fiber. Keeps me full until lunch time!
Crystal Light
Yeah, yeah, yeah, aspartame & artificial sweeteners are the devil and I’m going to die. But I’m trying to ween myself off my daily diet coke habit. So it’s the lesser of two evils. Now get off your high horse and keep reading.
Hummus + Whole Wheat Wraps
It’s still cheaper to get my greens from the cafeteria… but I’ve been bringing my own wraps and hummus to work with me. Yes, I assemble my wraps at my desk. So what? (That cucumber is from my garden!)
And no, I don’t waste money on those travel size packs of hummus. I bring the whole tub of hummus to work.
Fruit
Apple, pear, peach, banana… something. If I don’t have a snack in the afternoon, I will raid the pantry when I get home. (Not pretty.) Sure, I could probably just eat a larger lunch and stay full… but I like looking forward to my daily dose of Vitamin C.
Truvia (Stevia)
Sometimes, I want a little sweet-ness in my coffee (or my greek yogurt) so I like to keep these on hand, just in case!
I currently have a jar of peanut butter in my purse, so that’s a little random
hahaha i would totally do the same thing with assembly your own wrap at the desk 🙂
Go you for taking the whole tub of hummus!! People look at me weird when I bring a V8 out of my purse randomly… which isn’t really weird. Apples are often in my bag, toothbrush and toothpaste, and my fave candy of the moment.
Haha I can’t usually trust myself with candy in my bag but sometimes I do carry the Trader Joe’s chocolate covered cocoa nibs and they are SO good!
Bahaha, I’d like to see this bag! I’m pretty sure I have all of those things in mine minus the sports bra and laptop. I do have socks in my bag though, you never know when you might need a clean, dry, cozy pair of socks!
Whitney
Love Crystal Light. Up until 3 weeks ago, the only liquids I consumed during the day was diet crack. Crystal light is helping me break that addiction!
Normally, I’d be chugging down DC but I’ve been battling a cold and that’s the ONLY time I don’t want the bubbly goodness. So for now, I’m drinking water like its my job!
I’m trying to reserve my diet crack goodness for when we go out to eat.
Yeah I am a big bag person. Oh and I pack all sorts of foods with me – raisins, nut butters, nuts, dried fruits, etc. You name it I have carried it 🙂
I have a huge lunch bag, but it’s all “necessary” to me. It’s jam-packed full of food (but coincidentally, not jam).
hmmmm…strangest thing i’ve ever carried in my back was….probably brussel sprouts. i actually carried some around today.hahah
I do pack my lunch/snacks to take to campus and it saves me so much money! I swear when I go to school for the day my bag has more food in it then books. 🙂
I always have a big bag full of stuff, too. And that does include an entire gym outfit (sneaks stay in the car, wish my gym offered free lockers…). Not sure any of it’s particularly odd, though. And nothing wrong with assembling wraps at work! On lazy days when I plan on having a PB&J, I’ll bring a whole loaf of bread and big jars of PB and J with me. In my purse. Well, at least the PB&J, bread tends to get smushy.
