The past few weeks have been pretty busy so I was kind of excited about a weekend with very little on the schedule. I started Saturday off with a pink lady apple and some almond butter on the side.

almond butter and apple

I’m obsessed with the Almond Butter from Trader Joe’s. It’s so great for dipping. I also had a cup of coffee and a glass of water, trying to hydrate before my workout!

workout

I met up with some friends at the park for a BBG style workout. If you’ve heard of Kayla Itsines and her Bikini Body Guides then you know it was a killer workout! At first it was a little chilly but once we started jumping around, I warmed up fast! We did the workout in the photo above 4 times though. (2 of the first circuit, 2 of the second circuit, and then repeated all of that.) There were so many jump squats, I almost died. But then I didn’t and I felt amazing!

tangerine

Once I got home, I grabbed a tangerine and mini avocado muffin. I’m loving the tangerines (again, from Trader Joe’s) but the amount of seeds in there drive me crazy. Next time, I’m going for the clementines!

For lunch, I made a black bean burger and ate it with a side salad. Sorry for the ugly photo.

Alex and I spent the afternoon painting half of the basement. It’s a totally unglamourous project and I learned that waterproofing paint does not come off your skin easily. I definitely still had some on my leg when I went to work on Monday. No amount of scrubbing could get it off! Luckily, we were able to get two coats of paint on the wall and the ceiling, so I’m glad to have that done!

We finished up around 4 and we were both in need of a snack.

cheese

We split some cheese and crackers. I was so excited to get this Spanish cheese sample pack from Trader Joe’s (are you sensing a theme here with the TJ’s?) but I was kind of bummed that they all sort of tasted the same. It wasn’t really the variety I was hoping for.

Later on, headed out to Libbie & Grove to grab dinner. We hadn’t been to the Continental Westhampton for long time so it was fun to go back there!

Their menu is super vegetarian-friendly so we had a hard time deciding. In the end I went with the zucchini falafel wrap and traded some of my french fries for a few bites of Alex’s eggplant parmesan. Both were delicious and we’ll definitely be going back here soon! It’s rare that we have more than a handful of vegetarian options so it was fun to actually have a choice to make!

After we got home, we watched a documentary on Netflix and I had a few pieces of dark chocolate. Not a bad way to end the week!

What’s your favorite thing from Trader Joe’s? (Or if you don’t have a TJ’s your favorite recent grocery store purchase!)
