We’re Getting Married!
This weekend has felt a little bit like a dream, after Alex popped the question on Friday night! I obviously said yes, about 14 times. I won’t share all of the details here, but Alex planned a wonderfully sentimental and romantic evening, involving a lot of the places and things from our “early days” of dating. It brought (many) tears to my eyes, and I’ve always felt like the luckiest girl in the world with him.
He proposed Friday night, and my parents were visiting over the weekend so Saturday morning we got to tell them in person. It was so wonderful having them around to celebrate, and we were all quite excited. (I’m also SO happy that my sister in law also lives in Richmond, and is a wedding planner expert. How did I get so lucky?)
I shamelessly flaunted this around all weekend, but could you blame me?
Once things settle down over here, I’ll get back to playing in the kitchen. For now, I’m going to go enjoy filling up this Pinterest board….
congrats girl! So happy for you!
Omigosh! Congratulations, Liz! Have an absolute -blast- planning your wedding, and try not to let it get too stressful to the point where you don’t enjoy it anymore. And I definitely don’t blame you for flaunting that ring around — it’s gorgeous!
CONGRATULATIONS!!! It sounds like a wonderful, thoughtful proposal. And what a gorgeous ring! Flaunt away, lady!
Yay! So happy for you. Enjoy every moment! It is such a wonderful time and goes so fast!
sooooooooooooooooo happy for you!!! enjoy the engagement, no stressing!! You will be a beautiful bride!!
Congratulations! How exciting! When I got engaged, I sent out a message to several women I know who were recently married asking for advice. It was so helpful! I was really surprised by their responses. There is a certain amount of wisdom that you (somewhat unfairly) just cannot grasp until after the wedding is all said and done. My advice:
1. Enjoy this exciting stage of being freshly engaged!
2. Download a master to-do list from any free wedding site and organize it by month so you don’t get overwhelmed.
3. Do everything you can as early as possible, because the last couple of months will be hectic no matter what.
4. Even when it gets stressful, try to enjoy every bit of it because it will go by quickly and you never get to plan your own wedding again!
Good luck and HAVE FUN!
That ring is gorgeous! Congratulations!
aw, Liz, CONGRATS! that is so exciting and your ring is beautiful. I’m in the midst of wedding planning (4.5 months to go!) and my advice is follow your own tastes and preferences and create a wedding that represents you as a couple, as opposed to following trends from pinterest or trying to satisfy others (don’t get me wrong though, pinterest can be a saving grace when it comes to wedding planning!). also, try your hardest not to over-think things or get lost in the details… focus on the big picture and what you want your big day to *feel* like 🙂 let’s see if I can continue to follow that piece of advice over the next few months! can’t wait to hear about your wedding plans!
What incredible news, Congrats! This post totally made my Monday morning, I love reading happy things!
I am so happy for you. Congrats and best wishes!
