Staying Active- Jillian Michaels DVD review!
I actually managed to stay active at home:
- I had a lot of gym dates with Alexa (which is SO motivating!)
- My dad and I had a father-daughter date at the ice rink and an hour of ice skating is enough cardio for me!
- And thanks to this Christmas present, I’ve been sore for the past 3 days:
I got the Shed and Shred Jillian Michaels DVD for Christmas, and I wanted to make sure I did it this week, so I could let you know if it was good!
So here’s the deal:
There are 2, 45 minute workouts. Level 1 and Level 2. Or you can do both levels together (but I think it’s slightly shortened, so it’s only an hour.) I sort of did it wrong, and ended up doing level 1 + level 2, and so it took an hour and a half. Let me tell you, an hour and a half of Jillian is a little much. But man was it a workout.
Its typical Jillian- lots of circuit workouts. This one had new moves though, so I was happy to see she wasn’t just recycling moves from her other dvds. It was also great because most of the moves can easily be incorporated into your own circuit workout. I’ll definitely be using these moves!
I think I liked it better than her Ripped in 30 dvd, and it’s at least as good as the 30 day Shred dvd, the workouts are just longer, so you need a little more time to complete them. (And if you haven’t tried Jillian’s Power Yoga, it’s one of my favorites!)
i haven’t been too active but i got a rebounder so im hoping that will keep me in great shape for this year 🙂
Thanks for the review! I’ve wanted to get another of Jillian’s dvds (I have the yoga one and LOVE it!), but I’m not sure which one to get. So is this one and the 30 day shred your favorites? Is there one you recommend more than the other?
I stayed active with Jillian’s yoga dvd 🙂
30 day shred is awesome if you’re crunched for time! They’re only 20 minutes each! The shed and shred is good, but the workouts are a lot longer. (but it’s kind of like more for your money!! Haha) ripped in 30 is good, and it comes with 4 types of workouts, so if you get bored with workouts quickly, that has the most options!! Hope that helps!
That does help! Thank you so much! 🙂
Thanks for this great review! I have done Jillian’s shred tape many times and it’s nice to hear about you trying out this new tape!
I’m kind of terrified of Jillian Michaels after the 30 Day Shred, haha! I did like that video, though. I normally am not a fan of exercise videos but it was short enough to keep my attention.
I feel I have stayed pretty active during this Christmas holiday season 🙂
might not have been perfect but I was moving!
Hope you have a great Friday night!
I’ve been sticking to my normal gym routine, but actually adding some extra time, since I haven’t been busy with school and work! I’m going to be bummed when life gets busy again!
I have Jillian’s earlier Shred DVD and I liked it. Just got a littel repetetive after a while – definitely need to alternate other workouts to keep myself interested and motivated.
She sure knows how to make you work though.
Enjoy!
Wow, 45 minutes of Jillian?! I’m on the floor after 20! Don’t think I could handle this but much respect to you for it 🙂
I’ve been taking advantage of the mild weather and cycling a lot plus Jillian’s Shred DVD or some 10-minute solutions workouts at home; plus mucking out the horses has to count…!
I haven’t tried a Jillian DVD yet but I so want to now.
I’m never much for workout videos–I’m just plain bad at working out at home–but this sounds like a good one, thanks for the review!
