Boho Cycle Studio Review and Pumpkin Painting
Even though I missed opening weekend, I did make it to the first week of classes at Boho Cycle Studio, the new indoor cycling place in Richmond.
First of all, let me say that I’ve never been into cycling. Prior to this class, I’d taken two cycling classes in my life. They were… fine. It just didn’t seem like my style of exercise. I love barre, gymnastics, yoga… But spin always seemed a little…boring.
But Boho totally changed my mind about that! The class was an hour long but it flew by! Our instructor was awesome, upbeat, and played an energizing mix of music. We were changing speeds and positions so often, it never got boring. The whole classroom was dark, which was sort of made it feel like a yoga class. I liked that it made it more relaxing, and it was easier to just let my mind wander, while I got in some mad cardio. Of course, the best part was when she brought us each a cool, lavender scented washcloth right before we cooled down. That was the best feeling ever!! My Boho Cycle Studio Review: Officially awesome.
Plus, the studio is adorable. The bathroom was stocked with extra bobby pins and hair ties (we all know how forgetting those can ruin a workout!) and the bikes use actual clip-in shoes. I’d never used those before, but it made a huge difference in the feel of the ride. My roommate, Lindsay, was on the bike next to me, and I had a new appreciation for her recent 50 mile bike ride. Phew. I’m exhausted just thinking about it.
I bought a class package and now I’m so excited to go back. The studio is adorable and it’s pretty close by which is convenient. I’m definitely sore today, which is a good sign. (If anyone in RVA wants to take a class together, let me know!)
After class, I picked up a pumpkin and took it over to Alex’s apartment with some paints in hand. I figured painting was a little less messy than carving, and this way we could each do a side.
A house divided, as they say. Alex gets extra points for choosing a more difficult design. (But still… Go Bucks!)
I definitely go through phases with spin class and can be pretty picky. I have yet to find a good one in Toronto but maybe boho will just open up here and save me the trouble of looking!
oooh i love that the Os in boho are bike wheels. creative and cute! love your pumpkin. i still need to do mine. i’ll probably do it november 1, knowing me. haha. have a great weekend!
Isn’t it so cute? My friend does all their logo design stuff 🙂 I can’t wait to snag a shirt!
i have done those spinning classes couple times and enjoyed it – havent done it in sooo long.
I LOVE spin! We don’t have an actual gym that does spin classes (at least not that I’ve found). But my gym has video classes you can take & spin is one of those. I absolutely love it.
Wow that is so cool! I didn’t even know video classes were a thing!
I go through phases with my love for spinning and then my burn out from spinning but I haven’t taken a class since June so I am gearing up for my return! I am hoping this winter isn’t super cold because that usually sends me inside to the gym more often but when it does in fact happen, I welcome a good spin class a few times a week.
I definitely go through workout phases, too!!
I LOVE cycling classes! It’s one of my favorite forms of exercising, as long as I’m in a class. If I have to do it myself, nope. Hate it.
Haha I definitely don’t think I could do it on my own! I need someone to push me!
I haven’t been to a spin class in years, but I always enjoyed them. I might have to give Boho a try!
You should definitely check it out! I think we will do a blogger meet up there, soon!
I can’t really explain why but I actually despise spinning! I used to do it 2x a week when I started at GoodLife fitness but I always felt like I was forcing myself to go. I guess we all have something that just doesn’t work for us!
I can totally relate! I did NOT think I would enjoy it! I think the studio is just so cute, I love it 🙂
I’ve been cycling once a week for about 7 years now. I LOVE it. I bought a group package to Boho too! Let me know if you are ever up for a 5:45 AM Friday ride. 😉
Brittany and I are going to the 6am class tomorrow (Tuesday!) If you want to join!!
How cute! I love the pumpkins designs you guys came up with! I’ve only taken one spinning class and it is really intense but fun! The time does fly by, especially with friends by your side. 🙂
