What I Was [Convinced] to Eat Wednesday
If you follow me on twitter, then maybe you saw my tweet about this.
(What? You don’t follow me on twitter? Really? Then click here and do it.)
My dinner Monday night was actually kind of funny. After a 3 hour Monk marathon on Netflix, the man-friend was hungry, and suggested we go to Subway. I’m totally cool with Subway. That’s in my “I-can-eat-this-and-not-hate-myself” category. But then on our way he suggests we also get milkshakes. I whined something like “ohh I had Mexican food for lunch, I shouldn’t have a milkshake with dinner.”
He says:
“You’re perfectly healthy! You’re acting like you need to lose weight. Stop it and eat a milkshake with me.”
Point taken. What’s so bad about relaxing and eating a freakin milkshake?
Nothing. And yes, we got fries with that.
Anyways, since that wasn’t all I ate, lets jump into the link party! Thanks Jenn!
So this is what the rest of the day looked like!
Breakfast:
I decided to switch it up a little and try Kashi Cinnamon cereal
Have you had this stuff yet? It’s pretty good. I love Fiber One, but I wanted something with a little extra protein. So I tried not to let the higher-than-usual calorie count throw me off. I like it. It’s super crunchy, and a little sweet. Ok, a lot sweet. But that’s how I like it.
Lunch:
Since I had Monday off, I went out to lunch at Plaza Azteca with my name-twin Liz. (Love you, Liz!) She’s gluten-free, so we usually go for Mexican, since there are lots of options for both of us.
I had a MASSIVE dish of vegetarian fajitas. So much so, that I had leftovers for lunch on Tuesday. Holy yum. I love me a plate of veggies. I didn’t use the tortillas, but I did end up using the beans and rice.
But since I’m like the worst-food-blogger-ever. I didn’t take a picture. I don’t even really have a picture that looks close.
This is the best I’ve got.
Sorry. But that ^^ is also super delicious. Click here for the recipe.
Dinner:
Well, you saw the milkshake. But I also ate a veggie sub, courtesy of the Subway sandwich artist.
Veggies + sweet onion sauce = amazing.
And that, is what I ate on Monday. I wish I could have shown you yesterday’s dinner too. I went to a Japanese steakhouse for work. I desperately wanted to take pictures, but… it wasn’t the best scenario to play food paparazzi.
Love what the man-friend said…so true yet like yourself, I struggle to let loose sometimes! If I am, however, dessert is where its at and preferably in the form of cookies or ice cream (or both ;))!
I love Kashi GoLean and was so excited when I found out they had come out with a new flavor…I can’t wait to try it! All your eats look great!
I LOVE how your man convinced you to indulge. So good to just let loose and have a “freaking milkshake” every now and then! I’m so glad I’m not the only one that practiced the fine art of laziness this weekend…3 hours of Monk? I’m impressed! I think we logged about 4-5 hours with The Walking Dead on Sunday…large chunk of the day wasted well spent!
I’m seriously jealous of the Kashi! I haven’t seen that flavor yet, but oh my gosh, does it sound good!
Favorite thing to eat when rules go out the window: Ice cream…lots of it…with things in side and stuff on top! 😉
Amen. Everyone should have a good milkshake once in a while. I don’t have nearly as much food guilt as I used to, so I’m still working on enjoying treats without feeling guilty, and when I do, it feels so good 🙂
I’ve never seen that kashi cereal!! I’ll definitely be on the look out for it… when my “no buying new things in january” challenge ends, that is! When I let loose on my eating habits, I eat a lot of chocolate. OH wait, I do that anyway!
Hahaha that would be a good resolution for me. I’m SUCH an impulse buyer!
ok the beginning of this post cracks me up. because that is exactly what i would say if asked the same question by my boyfriend…and the exact same thing he would say back to me in return. good for you for letting go and diving into a milkshake. milkshakes are feakin’ awesome anyways.
and i’ve heard about this new Kashi. need to try it. well, first find it. and then try it.
any form of desserts – well anything with chocolate.
it has been years since I have had a milkshake, always good though.
ice cream makes me happy!!!
Milkshakes are so good too, happy Wednesday!!
So glad you enjoyed a milkshake! All things in moderation! 🙂
Ps. I really want to know about your see-through dress debacle (saw on Twitter)!
I would say that my “let loose” food is vegan cookies, but let’s be real, if that were the case than my definition of “letting loose” would be pretty weak (meaning, i eat vegan cookies kind of a lot). so really it’s (vegan) pizza. i used to only let myself eat pizza on days that i either moved into a new apartment or helped someone move into a new apartment. between that and my normal workout i felt like i “deserved it.” living in mpls means there’s tons of vegan pizza all around, so now sometimes it just needs to be…”a thursday!” to make it a pizza day…. ; )
