Sometimes, you just need to shake things up.
Enter, the River City Roller Girls.
In December, a bunch of friends and I went to go see a Roller Derby Bout, and my friend Stephanie and I decided we NEEDED to try this. (If you ask me “Why?” I’ll say “Why not?”)
So this is me, looking like a goof, first time on roller skates.
Now lets be clear about something. It’s not that I’m not athletic… I just tend to suck at the general throwing/catching/hitting that is required of most sports. Basketball, softball, golf, tennis, volleyball… those things, I’m not so good at. However, I’m actually not so bad at things that require balance. So I wasn’t terrible, considering I’d never skated before.
And let me tell you, it was quite a workout! Definitely comparable to a trip to the gym!
