Thrifting Finds & RVA Brunch Club
I’m feeling pretty lucky. If you know me at all, you know I’ve fallen in love with the city of Richmond, and I continue to be blessed by meeting wonderful, interesting people. This weekend was filled with some blog-worthy adventures.
Saturday afternoon, I spent the day in the South side with Sydney, from Chic Stripes who is an expert at thrifting and consignment shopping. She took me to three different thrift stores, and by the end of the day I ended up with 3 cardigans, 3 sweaters, a jacket, a skirt, and a basket… for less than $50 total. I know, amazing, right? This girl has an eye for fashion, especially second hand. If you haven’t checked out her blog before, go take a look. I swear, you’ll be inspired.
I wanted to show you what I got, but I learned that I’m not great at taking self portraits. The self timer on the camera is way more confusing than you think. Trust me. But at least you can see the sweet lace sweatshirt that I picked up for a few bucks, which I ended up wearing to brunch on Sunday.
I had the pleasure of brunching with the girls from RVA Brunch Club. I felt honored to join their Sunday brunch tradition, and we went to a new-to-me restaurant, EAT in Oregon Hill.
Sometimes vegetarian options at brunch are a little limited, so I was excited to see that they had a vegan breakfast option that sounded delicious- black bean & quinoa cakes with cauliflower, zucchini, and sweet potato hash.
(That’s my amazing breakfast in the bottom right corner. Oh my goodness it was delicious.)
I’m sure the girls from RVA Brunch Club will have the full review up soon, but for now, let me tell you that if you live in Richmond, you should definitely check this place out for brunch. It wasn’t super crowded, but the staff was friendly, the mimosas were tasty, and the food was excellent. I’ll definitely be back to this place.
All of this exploring over the weekend really did make me fall in love with the city all over again.
Did you do anything fun over the weekend?
Sweatshirt is adorable!!
We went out to brunch yesterday and I felt like EVERYTHING had meat. It was so frustrating, I just got an egg white omelet with goat cheese. Pretty boring!
That’s so frustrating! I was super excited to see this item on the menu (that was vegan and gluten free!) and it wasn’t just a last ditch attempt at something. It was SO good!
What fun! I went to a fancy-schmancy wine tasting on Saturday . . . my husband and I had a great time. The weekend went by too quickly though!
Score on the cute top! I haven’t been to EAT yet, but now I definitely want to. And that brunch club is awesome!
Definitely give it a try! And the ladies at brunch were so sweet! Definitely check out their blog ๐
Score on all those clothes, Liz! Amazing thrifting job. That’s a gorgeous little sweatshirt. ๐
Your weekend looks like a blast! Love a good shopping trip. And that shirt in the first pic is adorable!
Ok I,m totally jealous that you have a resto offering those great veg options for brunch!!! YUM!!
Your shopping trip sounds like a lot of fun too ๐ Very pretty top!

I absolutely adore EAT!!! I went for dinner a few months back and after that was hooked. Have been for brunch as well and loved everything. That voodoo shrimp might be one of my favorite dishes in all of Richmond, it’s so amazing! And I love the vibe in there, so fun! Nothing like finishing off a fabulous weekend with a stellar brunch ๐ Looking forward to reading the ladies’ review of EAT soon too – happy Monday!
That brunch sounds amazing. I love it when restaurants take a non-traditional route with dishes. Makes my taste buds happy!
Me too!! It’s always fun trying something out of the ordinary!
I love going to thrift stores! There are so many things that are brand new and still have the tags on.
Veggie food in restaurants is exciting when it’s good. I get kinda sick of seeing the only option as some sort of mushroom burger! It’s sad because there is a whole world of vegetarian food out there if people would be only a little creative!
I totally agree!! The worst is when the “veggie burger” is really a frozen boca burger ๐
That is an epic thrifting day! Reminds me I need to do the same – it’s been ages since I’ve gone out hunting for cool finds. It is way more difficult than most people presume to take a self-portrait. I’m actually looking to buy a small remote for my camera so I can take tons of shots (since I only like about 1 in 100) without constantly going back to the camera!
Haha I am the same way! I got a remote but the batteries died! ๐
