I had a weekend full of lovely dates. How did I get so lucky? I’ll never know. Friday night, I kidnapped Alex, and took him to Europa, for 1/2 price tapas and wine. It was lovely spending two hours, enjoying a leisurely dinner and talking about the week. The artichoke hummus was totally amazing.
After dinner, we met up with Christina and went to inLight Richmond, a light display across the canal walk. It was a gorgeous night, and it was fun walking around downtown.
This was our best attempt at a selfie inside one of the light exhibits. You can’t really tell, but we were basically inside a rainbow tunnel of lights. Clearly, you just never know where your Friday night could take you.
Saturday morning, I had the pleasure of meeting up with a handful of Virginia Bloggers for brunch, and it was lovely chatting about Richmond, blogging, and life in general.
Meeting other bloggers is one of my favorite things to do. It really makes me appreciate what a wonderful place I live in!
Saturday night, Alex had a little surprise for me. He got us all of the ingredients we needed to make Peas and Crayons‘ amazing tomato soup with mozzarella balls.
Holy monkeys. I’m not going to give you a new recipe post today, because you need to go make this recipe from Jenn right now! It was pretty easy to put together, and even though our little mozzarella balls melted a tiny bit in the oven, they were absolutely delicious in the soup. Go. Make. This.
As we ate the soup, Alex surprised me again with having Gone with the Wind ready to play. After seeing the costume exhibit at the VMFA, I commented that I had really wanted to see Gone with the Wind since I’d never seen it before. It was a long movie, but wonderful! Nothing better than snuggling up in a warm blanket with tomato soup and a great movie. Right?
I really am blessed.
What was your favorite part of the weekend?
