Random [Thanksgiving] Activity
This post is going to be super random, because my days have been super random.
I love sleeping in. It’s one of my favorite things. But I voluntarily rolled my butt out of bed before the sun came up, so I could run in a 4 mile race, before the marathon day of eating began!
Best part of the race? Everyone that finished got a bottle of wine! Sweet!
The four miles actually flew by, and it was a great race! I can’t wait to run another one. I forgot how motivating those are!
I’ve also been spending a lot of quality time with this baby:
I was a music major at one time in my life. That turned into a minor, and I haven’t been playing much since college. It felt so good to play again. I also have very understanding parents who let me blast the new Coldplay album for like an hour while I played along. Thanks, Mom and Dad. (Is anyone else obsessed with that album?)
I’ve spent quality time with this lady:
Can you see the resemblance? My mom and I have always been super close, and I love coming home to see her. Â My parents have struck an amazing balance of making me feel SO good about coming home, without ever making me feel guilty for moving away. It’s honestly amazing.
Is it too early to decorate?
We put up our tree last night, which makes me feel like it’s officially the Christmas season. Have you decorated yet?
It’s so cool that you’re super close with your mom. I am too, and it’s just great! 😉 And how did I miss that you play the piano? Music loving food bloggers unite!
I love random and I love this post. I feel like I got to learn a few new things about you! I’m so proud of you for running a marathon! I haven’t had the motivation to roll out my yoga mat, in fact I’ll do that tonight.
I love that you are close with your parents. And I love your tree!
I hope you had a most excellent weekend!
You and your mom are both so pretty! 🙂 And girl, it is never too early to decorate for Christmas. 😉 We decorated last weekend since we’re out of town nearly every weekend in December and won’t have a chance to later. 🙂
Aww, thanks!!! 🙂 And YAY for decorating early! 🙂
What?! A 4 mile race and wine?! I need to find a race like that! I would love to run a 4 mile race- it’s my favorite distance. I’ve gotten free beer after a race before, but it’s not the same!
love your tree! i have not decorated yet, looking forward to it
You look gorgeous in that post-race picture – and how good that you got a bottle of wine! I used to love the piano too but sadly haven’t got the space or the money for one now.
Love the treee pic and hope you had a great Thanksgiving too 🙂
Yay for races on Thanksgiving! I had so much fun on mine 🙂 I’m super close with my mom too and that tree picture makes me smile. We just put ours up tonight!
LOVE that you already have your tree up, I wish my hubby and I were that speedy. You and your mum are so adorable! & yay for races, girl, I love the adrenaline pump that comes with them, I need to sign up for one soon.
Best part of thanksgiving this year was hearing 3 people say “I don’t like kale” but loving the kale salad sitting right in the middle of the table. Oh the wonders of a good salad recipe.
Happy weekend!
Haha nice job converting people into Kale lovers! I got my family to eat sweet potatoes and try greek yogurt! Both of those, I consider a win 🙂
Sounds like a wonderful thanksgiving full of things and people you are thankful for 🙂
The best part of my thanksgiving was playing with all the little kids—they cracked me up for hours!
No christmas decorations yet….maybe this weekend….
thats awesome you play the piano! i played since i was really little up through my senior year of high school. then i kinda stopped. i really should start up again though..it’s such a great hobby & totally therapeutic!
It seriously is! I have a digital piano at my apartment, but it’s definitely more fun playing the “real” one at my parents house!!
