If you’re not sure how to use cottage cheese beyond breakfast, these recipes will give you plenty of ideas.
My Favorite Cottage Cheese
The Good Culture brand of cottage cheese is my absolute favorite it but can be hard to find. If you can’t find that one, look for a brand that is lower in sodium. Some of these recipes use cottage cheese won’t work as well if the cottage cheese is watery or overly salty.

How to Blend Cottage Cheese
Since a lot of these recipes use blended cottage cheese, I wanted to share some tips on blending! You can use an immersion blender to blend it right in the container. Or, transfer it to a food processor or blender. Blending small quantities can be tricky without an immersion blender, so I often blend a larger batch at once. Keep it in the fridge and add a scoop to your dressings, sauces, and smoothies for a protein boost!

How long does cottage cheese last?
Cottage cheese typically lasts about 2 weeks if properly refrigerated but once it’s opened, it usually needs to be consumed within 5 days. Never eat out of the container and use a clean spoon each time you scoop out a portion in order to prevent it from spoiling faster. Always check the expiration date and I follow the rule “when in doubt, throw it out” because I don’t want to risk it!
