Description

These tasty quinoa burgers are easy to make, made with just a few basic pantry staples. They have a hearty texture and a great flavor!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup cooked quinoa
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup panko crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons chopped chipotle peppers
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 4 burger buns
  • Toppings: lettuce, onion, tomato, cilantro sauce, etc.

Instructions

  1. In a large bowl, stir together the quinoa, egg, cheese, panko crumbs, chipotle peppers, cumin, oregano, garlic powder, and salt.
  2. Shape into 4 patties.
  3. In a large, non-stick skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat.
  4. Add the burger patties to the pan and cook until the bottoms are browned, about 4 minutes.
  5. Gently flip the patties, cover, and cook for 4-5 minutes more until the second side is golden brown.
  6. Transfer the cooked burgers to buns and add your favorite toppings.
