Description

Tender asparagus spears coated with crunchy panko crumbs make a quick and delicious dish to pair with your favorite protein. This recipe only takes a few minutes to make!


Ingredients

  • 1 cup panko crumbs
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ¼ teaspoon salt
  • 1 pound asparagus, ends trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 egg or 2 egg whites, beaten
  • Marinara sauce or aioli for dipping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.
  2. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
  3. In a shallow dish, combine the panko crumbs, garlic powder, and salt.
  4. Toss the asparagus in the flour until very lightly coated.
  5. Working one at a time, dip the asparagus into the egg and let the excess drip off.
  6. Roll the asparagus into the panko crumbs until coated.
  7. Line the asparagus in a single layer on the baking sheet.
  8. Bake for 15-20 minutes, turning halfway until browned.
  9. Serve with marinara sauce or aioli for dipping.
